Which has worked for me for sooooo long!! Oh!! Well!!
Did you look at the pic I linked?
Descending puts the current thread at the top of the window where it is
visible when the folder opens.
Try it my way and see if your posts are in the tree.

No, changing to Descending, as you suggest, puts the oldest active
*THREAD* at the bottom of the Pane, but the order in which the posts
with-in a Thread didn't actually change (and MY OP is still not showing
;-P )
However, I've left it as "Descending" so will see if things change when
I log back in in about six hours!
