Interesting. I still see the missing arrows after I downloaded and

OK. I figured out what was causing it. "SeaMonkey Modern" theme. Default
showed the arrows just fine. I'll update my bug report about this.

I do not know about waterfox. alsa with apulse? Be that as it may. I had
no sound regarding mail notification. Very annoying. So I decided a few
days ago to install pulseaudio on top of alsa.

That required to get rid of apulse. After a few tweaks I am now content.

I again installed x64 SeaMonkey 2.53.1. This time I also installed the
Toolbar Buttons 1.0.2 extension from my own archive. The buttons I had
with SeaMonkey 2.49.5 appeared except for the Password Manager button.

The Password Manaager button is not part of the basic set of buttons in
the extension. However, I also archived the installer for the Password
Manager 1.1.1 button; so I installed it, too. It did not appear in the
Customize Toolbar window, so I could not add it to SeaMonkey's toolbar.

While a button did appear for Add-ons Manager, it was non-functional. I
selected it, but the Add-ons Manager did not appear.

Another extension that was non-functional (not part of Toolbar Buttons)
was Theme Font & Size Changer. I selected its button, and its window
did appear. However, its Font selection list was empty.

I have again reverted to 2.49.5.

I'm wondering what version you are wondering about.

I just installed the 64-bit version of SeaMonkey on my Windows 10 laptop.

I have PDF Viewer 1.9.641 installed on March 14, 2018. It appears to
open in a tab attempting to load a pdf file, but nothing shows up in the
tab until I click the "Stop" button.

So I went searching and found
 version
2.2.255 which I installed after removing the older version and it works
for me.

I'm using SeaMonkey 2.53.1 final I had version 1.1.304 installed. It
didn't work. I installed the latest version 2.2.255 of PDF viewer and
it works again.

Are there plans to include the PDF Viewer code into future versions of
SeaMonkey so that a plug in will not be required?

That is not strictly true. HTML5 autoplay is disabled. There should still be
a play button you can click to get it to play, in most cases. There are a few
sites where you need autoplay enabled to get the video to play even after you
click the play button, but I have an extension that gives me a button to
toggle the setting.

By default, I have media.autoplay.enabled set to false. When there is a
video I want to play, I use PrefBar to change it to true (selecting a
checkbox on the PrefBar tool bar). I then reload the Web page, and the
video plays.

How do you change "autoplay.enabled" (or not) in PrefBar? I don't have
that option in my 'PrefBar Options'... Is that one I didn't include at
the time of installation -- and how can I get in my PrefBar now?

It is a checkbox that I created and added to PrefBar. Creating such
checkboxes is easy.

If you want my checkbox, do the following:

1. Go to .

2. Right-click on HTML5_media.btn, select "Save Link Target As" from
the pull-down context menu, and indicate in the resulting window where
you want to download the file.

3. Right-click on the PrefBar tool bar, and select "Customize PrefBar"
in the pull-down context menu.

4. In the list of PrefBar objects on the right side of the PrefBar
window, under Enabled Items, right-click and select Import in the
pull-down context menu.

5. In the resulting window, navigate to where you saved
HTML5_media.btn, select the file, and then select the Open button.

6. The checkbox will have been added to the bottom of the Enabled Items
list as "HTML5 Media". You can drag it up to another position, which
will determine where on the PrefBar toolbar it will appear.

With a checkmark in the checkbox, HTML5 media is enabled. With no
checkmark, it is disabled.

After inporting the checkbox into PrefBar, you can deleted the
HTML5_media.btn file from where you downloaded it. In two weeks, I will
remove the file from my Web site.

I have gone to your site and download HTML_media.btn and installed and
everything went great. However, it is at the bottom of the list how do I
move up the list?

What am I overlooking?

Thank you,
Danny

See my step #6. You do that in the PrefBar window that was launched in
step #3.

Yes, I saw that but though I misunderstood, because when I click on it
it will not drag. If I click on any of the other they will not drag
either. Do you have any idea why?

I just now tried it, and I was able to move a button by dragging it. I
tried it again, specifically with the HTML5 Media checkbox; and I was
able to move it.

Oops!! My error You have to left-click on the item under Enabled
Items, not right-click.  As you drag the item, the cursor is an arrow;
you should see a small rectangular outline attached to the bottom of the
arrow. The destination of the item will at the point of the arrow when
you release the left mouse button.

NOTE: You can also drag from Available Items to Enabled Items or
vice-versa.

Thank you for you help in this matter! Left click and dragging does
nothing, whether I'm in the Available Items or Enabled Items, nothing
ever follows the the mouse pointer. I can right click and get the
context menu for edit, coy, delete and so-forth. Left click only
highlights that selection.

Any ideas,

Danny

When you highlight the item by left-clicking, do not release the left
mouse button. You should then be able to drag the item.

I have resolved the problem! I upgraded PrefBar from Version 7.0.1 to
Version 7.1.1. I can now drag and drop items in the list and move them.

Thank you for your help,

Danny

Well, multiprocesses, faster speeds, etc. SM v2.49.5 still uses a single

Re: Isn't SeaMonkey v2.53.1's web browser supposed to be using the faster Gecko web engine?

Some ways forward

1. Switch to Linux (I'd expect RAM usage to drop from around 5.9G

slightly faster, but this won't fix bandwidth. Not sure Win7 is even
covered by security policy.

2. Install NoScript classic. This will block a huge amount of ad
related JavaScript and prevent a huge number of http connections.

3. Might be worth doing some system profiling, check if the CPU, RAM,
Disk I/O and Network bandwidth is really being used by the web
browser, or by something else, e.g. use Resource Manager in Win7

Newer Firefox versions (e.g., v73) had no issues though. :/

Ok, that's odd, I know there are moves (in the latest browsers) to
disable certain types of invasive behaviour, but I'm not aware of
anything that different between FireFox and SeaMonkey right now. Have
you confirmed for example that FireFox is using less resources than
SeaMonkey when opening the same tabs and visiting the same sites?

Probably just needed a hard refresh with Ctrl-R. Same page for beta and final.
The final update for the website was just pushed over the beta 1 website.
Previously they were more disticnt and the betas had a b1 appended to all
versions.

I just updated and released Mail Redirect 0.10.7, which should be
compatible with SeaMonkey 2.53.1 as well.

I had some problems that apparently some changes from Gecko 63 were
uplifted into SeaMonkey 2.53, which I think is build on Gecko 60.

Anyway, the new version is out on addons.thunderbird.net and was
reviewed very fast, so it is available for download/installation in
SeaMonkey 2.53.1, despite the name of the website :-)

Re: The problem with RSS in Seamonkey 2.53.1 Beta

2020-03-01 Thread Anastasia Perevozniuk

Greetings to all of You, WaltS48.

Sorry, forgot to attach the attachment to the previous letter.
In the attachment I'm sending a text file with a list of links on RSS
feeds. They are all from one site, but the updates are disabled
selectively and alternately, to trace the pattern failed. If you
consider that in Seamonkey 2.49.5 all is well and nothing is
disconnected, I suspect the problem after all not the sites and tapes,
namely, Seamonkey and Thunderbird. System - Windows 10 1909 Home Single
Language 64 bit. Create a new profile, start without add-ons, the
oversubscription to the tape again - all these methods do not help and
the problem persists.

Thank you for your answers and help.
With respect and best regards Anastasia, Kiev, Ukraine.

If Anastasia doesn't want to provide a feed or two that presents a
problem for them there isn't much else to investigate.
