Rejecting cookies breaks some Web sites.  Instead, I makr the file
cookies.sqlite in my profile as read-only.  The Web server thinks it is
setting cookies, but those cookies are lost as soon as I terminate
 SeaMonkey.

I use the the Permissions Menu menu list in PrefBar. This is NOT
inherent in the installed PrefBar. Instead, you must download it from
 and import
it into PrefBar. It provides the old way of managing cookies, popups,
images, and permissions for Web sites to install extensions and updates.

I know of no way to do that.  Why not set SeaMonkey to load only threads

But I don't want to read those unread messages too. I just want to mark read

You can use that to make exceptions to cookie permissions.  I am
actually using a cookie manager extension (written for Firefox but run
through the converter) that can make cookie permission exceptions for
the site I am currently viewing.  I patched it so that it would also
access cookieViewer.xul.

I've found that bookmarking the cookieViewer is useful. Although I
normally flush my cookies at the end of a session, it's the fastest way
of getting to cookie data quickly, and to me, the UI works better than
going through the Data Manager.

Thanx for the info.
Turns out the TI problem, so far, was a conflict with AdBlock that
didn't exist before. Another reason to switch to uBlock I guess.
The search was broken but also so was some of the page navigation when
you click order now etc. It worked a week ago. I spend a few hours a
day on that site usually so it was a big blow. There is a lot that is
way harder to do on the new page they launched or doesn't work anymore
no matter what browser I use so I am hoping TI is on it for the other
issues.

Not using SeaMonkey as far as I can find.

You can do that with Thunderbird by either selecting each newsgroup
you want to mark as read, right-click and select "Mark Newsgroups
Read", or select the account level in the Folder pane, right-click and
"Mark All Folders Read" from the context menu.

There is a faster way to do that with folders.  Just use Cmd-Shift-C or
Ctrl-Shift-C on the folder.

Ctrl+Shift+C switches to the Calendar tab in Thunderbird no matter what
folder I select.

Works in my SeaMonkey for one folder but not if multiple folders are
selected.

Thanks for the tip. :)

For FireBug and true-full-screen-  if you don't know why you need them,

If you read the 2.53.1 release notes

For AdBlock, the issue is that they've stopped supporting XUL

I will note that I'm quite content with what I'm getting out of uBlock.

Yes, that would work for each Newsgroup in the account, but my reading
