Anyone still using "MozBackup-1.5.2-beta1-EN" for back up in the 2.50.x
SeaMonkey's?

A long time ago, when storage space was expensive, it might have been
reasonable to compress backups. But now that storage space is cheap,
why have a backup that you need to unpack to read or copy?

For profiles and mail I use XCOPY new files - no, I do not run with
profiles and mail in the same tree, so they are also backed up to their
own trees. I clone entire partitions and HDDs to other HDDs so they are
usable without any processing - yes, that includes boot partitions from
multiple OSs. And none of this cares what version of anything is used.

Seems to work for me with 2.53.4. uBlock Origin indicates it's blocking
11 requests.

Seems OK with SM 2.53.4 if only the domain itself is enabled for JS.

It also wants you to load a lot of 3rd party sites but almost all of
these are trackers that may offer little value to the user.

Oh wow! Just land there and SM locks up!

Yup! SM offered me to stop the script. I said yes.

I'm finding a lot where the spacing and fonts just look different.
Pretty much any page made in Squarespace does not render correct in SM.

Here is one I came across yesterday that is interesting. The text is
all scrambled and on top of each other in SM but fine in FF.

https://www.audiotester.de/

Hmm, that looked fine to me for its old school web page design.

The last month or so it seems to be getting to over half my browsing
experience. I too don't like the UI in FF but I think I may be running
out of options. Switching browsers or discovering that the thing I was
fighting works in the other browser is a huge time suck.

Yep. I really wished SeaMonkey can upgrade its Gecko web engine sooner,
but they don't have enough resources. :(
