I tried that but still did not work (getting the older browsers and re-Sync). Looks like I will have to wait until they make Sync with SeaMonkey compatible with Firefox Sync. I somehow cannot link into Sync with SeaMonkey anymore. Even with older versions. Give me error messages whenever I put in any of the 2 email addresses I have used. Until then, however, if I change computers, I will be really in trouble given that I need much of data to be stored on SeaMonkey Sync the new one to come maybe soon I cannot access the old data previously stored. Pierre PS. It is difficult to understand why it was decided to make the 2 browsers impossible to sync with each other, when some users may have depended on having the two browsers sync with each other. For me it is related to the web pages I create/update and the research I do online. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
Why Sea Monkey Sync still asks for the recovery key?
I had the old sync for Sea Monkey and Firefox, the one that required a recovery key on Sea Monkey. I wish to get rid of the 'recovery key' needs, but NO WAY! After I disconnect syc from Sea Monkey, it still wants the key. I have no idea about what to do to re-sync the two browsers. Thank you for help required. Re: lost 6 months of emails
Phillipa here - the guilty party in this problem What I had done was to go through all the menus looking for options to get rid of the annoying compact or compact now , and finally at 'Help' saw 'Restart with add-ons disabled'. This was the one I clicked on and lost everything, including the local folders I had created, except the address book. The program looked exactly as it looked when first downloaded and opened - as you say, new blank profile. As it was a few months ago I probably had to redo the email settings for my service provider (at least I had those written down). I just tried looking for alternative profiles, but the only shown is 'default'. in your SeaMonkey, next have a look at what settings you have at View-Messages-All and View-Threads-All. Does this show your missing e-mail?? Unfortunately both those options in the 'view' menu are blanked out (I should say that this computer has XP. I bought it - after working in Parallels on Jean-Pierre's Mac - for using an older program which only works on Windows 32 bit ) . I have also checked through both the Inbox and all the local folders I have created, and there are no extra or hidden sub-folders (there were some on the lost version which did not seem to disappear completely when I deliberately deleted a local folder) phillipa - a not so tech-savvy user On 12/30/2012 7:21 AM, Daniel wrote: MCBastos wrote: jean-pierre bessette wrote: When I clicked on yes, the program reverted to a new installation, and I lost all emails, including all those that I had saved for the previous 6 months since I had bought this computer. Unfortunately I could not find a way to reverse what I had just done. Uh, when you say it reverted to a new installation, do you mean it lost ALL your configurations, including the settings for your e-mail accounts and such? If so, it just may be that, for some reason, Seamonkey has created a new (blank) profile and switched to using it instead of the profile you were using previously. In that case, your mail store files should be still available in your old profile. MCBastos Yeap, MCBastos, I was thinking along this line just after I posted my last reply!! ;-) Jean-Pierre, in SeaMonkey have a look at Tools-Switch Profiles. Do you see more profiles than you expected to see?? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Re: lost 6 months of emails
Thank you Michael. I think you are right. Next time my SIL comes over I will get him to look at all the info. and see if he can do anything about it. Lesson learned is not to rely on email programs to store information I want to keep. Thanks too the other chaps who offered advice. Phillipa p.s. -Is there anything I can do to get rid of the constant pop-up asking to 'compact now' other than letting it do it automatically without asking me (Thunderbird does the same thing)? On 12/30/2012 1:52 PM, Michael Gordon wrote: From following all these threads it is beginning to look like SM created a new default profile for you. It may be possible when you clicked on restart with adons disabled, SM detected an error in your previous profile and then created an new one. That is ok, if you closed SM, it should start again using the new default profile. All may not be lost, you can import your mail accounts into the default profile, or you can create a totally new profile, with a unique name to the profile, and then import your e-mail accounts from an older profile, import your bookmarks, and your address book contacts. lost 6 months of emails
Back in August when the program started constantly asking me if I wanted to 'COMPACT NOW?', I finally clicked OK to whatever the message was in the hope that it would stop asking me the question. Instead it seemed to compact almost constantly, causing a 'fluttering' of the script on my emails and making them almost unreadable. So I looked for a way to reverse what I had done and made a bit mistake. As I searched through the '\help' options I came across one that offered Restart with add-ons disabled When I clicked on yes, the program reverted to a new installation, and I lost all emails, including all those that I had saved for the previous 6 months since I had bought this computer. Unfortunately I could not find a way to reverse what I had just done. I have just switched over to Thunderbird, and all the current email lists have imported completely. Does anyone have any idea how I might retrieve those lost emails in Sea Monkey - personal ones with photos are the ones I would like to retrieve - or are they gone completely? jp ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
no uninstall function for zip of Mozilla 1.18
Greetings! I downloaded the zip file for Mozilla 1.18 to a folder where I keep program downloads. When I unzipped it, it automatically installed itself in this folder, but without an uninstall file to remove it. Also, Windows XP Professional did not record it as an installed program. Therefore it cannot be removed via the Windows Add/remove Program function. How to I uninstall this? Is the uninstall file hiding somewhere? Thank You!
