What menu?

When you open Tools > Add-ons Manager there should be four items listed
on the left.

Get Add-ons
Extensions
Appearance
Plugins

They were instructing you to open Tools > Add-ons Manager and select
Extensions, or Tools > Add-ons Manager > Extensions in tech shorthand.

Hope that helps.

If there are no extensions listed at all, you do not have any. If you
have any plugins, there should be a category that says "Plugins" and you
could check that as well.

Doctor Bill, if there is nothing suspicious in the Tools -> Add-ons

Add-ons Manager -> Plug-ins screen is there anything suspicious showing
there??

STOP everyone ! I fell upon the fix - like Antony on his sword.

I went to:
www.addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/seamonkey/extensions/
and clicked on: "Photos and Media" and then on:
autoplay-toggle-nonrestartless and let it install.

All OK NOW ! Back to where it works.

NOW - WHY does stuff on SeaMonkey CHANGE unbidden ? !
It worked for years - then ZAP Kaput No Funciona !
What happens ? Cosmic Rays and Ozzy Ozbourne Karma ?

In the meantime, I forget how it got there and go thru all this krap
trying to repair it.

Sorry I made such a fuss.this stuff is difficult to keep track of.

I see you solved the problem using Paul's suggestion.

Now if you want to remove the extension, use Tools > Add-ons Manager
from the Menu bar, select Extensions, find and remove it.

This "Thing" is in my Bookmarks Toolbar labeled "AutoPlay Toggle (On)"
or (off).

It shows (ON) or (OFF) when I toggle using Paul's Suggestion.
BUT - the addons Manager says I don't have any extensions !
Could it be a Plugin ? Is it part of SeaMonkey ? I am lost ! WHAT
is it ?

It used to "Toggle" by clicking on it - now doesn't toggle.

Help !

For me there is a better solution to turning off autoplay than through a
plugin for turning off autoplay, and it is built in to SeaMonkey:

First go to the Location Bar of the browser window and type
"about:config" without the quotation marks. Then press return.  In the
page that comes up search for "media.autoplay.enabled" and set it to
false. This will turn off autoplay.

I have used this setting for years. When I want to view video on a web
page or at youtube I simply click on the video's play button.

This setting stops videos from autoplaying and lets the user decide if
they want to view a video by clicking the play button.  If this is the
function of the plugin you are using, this function is already built
into SeaMonkey by going to about:config

HEY ! GREAT ! Thanks ! It was set to False ! I changed it to True
and now

I can play videos ! YouTube etc.

It used to toggle on my menu bar, but it won't toggle there anymore.
Why would it suddenly stop toggling ?

Thanks again !

Plugins and extensions are not the same thing.
The extension I use to toggle autoplay is Autoplay Toggle
(Non-Restartless). You can get it from addons.thunderbird.net.
