Or will it be corrected in 99 years ? :-) I find this issue in mozillazine about this problem in Thunderbird http://kb.mozillazine.org/Dictionaries_%28Thunderbird%29; Some other problems related to spelling are: The spelling checker cannot check the subject line. This is bug 3459. Developers have identified a solution, so a future release of Thunderbird will probably have this feature. The bug 3459 - Spell Check should also check the subject line. was open on January, 1998. And, by comment 58, Bug 368915 looks like it's about this. The Bug 368915 - Spell check command disabled in subject line (button, main menu Check Spelling, keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+P) was open on January, 2007 So, It will be corrected in 99 years. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

You're right that I can't turn spell-checking on when I want for the subject line. But I have the option Spell-check as you type enabled in my prefs, so when I mistype a word in the subject line, SM displays it with the wavy underline. When I see that, I can right-click the word and select the correct spelling, or just edit it myself. However when I *select* a bad word ... - In the body i can use the Spell button and I can choice Replace All (this is not present with the Right-Click) - In the subject the Spell button is *greyed , so i cannot choice Replace All What did it do with mecanism? Sorry, in english is mechanism :-) In fact - when is did not select a word in the body the click on the Spell button initiate the Spell mechanism. and the Spell mechanism is that for all the bad words in the body one at a time, the Spell action will propose: replace, ignore, replace all, etc.. In other words, I prefer the Spell mechanism with all the options, than the result of a right-clik on a bad word. The Spell mechanism can be actionned for the body but not for the subject. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

When I typed mecanism in the subject line, my SM underlined it because it wasn't in the Russian dictionary. But when I right-clicked it, at the bottom of the context menu I could choose the English dictionary from languages, and once I did, SM offered mechanism and a couple of other correct English words to substitute. -- War doesn't determine who's right, just who's left. -- Paul B.
