Probably because you have your News account to only show "Unread" messages. With the news group selected, check View->Threads and set it to "Threads with Unread" or some such. The OP could do both: View | Messages | Unread AND View | Threads | Threads with Unread To maximize message visibility, he'll have to choose View | Messages | All AND View | Threads | All Then no messages will be excluded. Yeap, you're right, Paul. For my e-mail account, I do have the "All"'s selected. and, for the news groups accounts, I like to see things threaded, so have "Threads with Unread" selected. ;-) For threading, you want View | Sort by | Threaded Like you, I have also chosen "Threads with Unread" because I don't want to clutter up my list with old threads and messages I've already seen. But that's a separate option from whether messages are threaded or not. -- War doesn't determine who's right, just who's left. -- Paul B. I guess you mean you went to File->Offline->Settings and, in the "Message Synchronizing" section, you clicked on "Select newsgroups for offline use", selected the Server and then those groups on that server which you wanted to download onto your Hard Drive. Nothing seemed to happen. Did you then click on File->Offline->Download/Sync Now?? I went to search in the Body of the messages of one of the checked newsgroups and it said not found. WHY ??? If you have not downloaded the news group posts onto your Hard Drive, as I remember, you can only search the Subject:'s What else do I have to do ? See above. The posts bodies are visible on Seamonkey. Is that not enough ? No. See above! I remember reading the post on this PC. How can it NOT find it now ? Probably because you have your News account to only show "Unread" messages. With the news group selected, check View->Threads and set it to "Threads with Unread" or some such. I need to find something that was posted several weeks ago and is ONLY found in the Body (not the subject). Then you will have to download that news group onto your Hard Drive, as described above. -- Daniel User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.46 Build identifier: 20161213183751 ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

If you want to scan the body, you have to convince Mozilla to download them. Right click the NG. Properties. Synchronization tab. Check Select this group for offline use Click Download Now That might do the trick.
