It is less bother to change the search engine in the searchbar. I have
never bothered to do that from the Preferences.

Thanks. Don't normally use Sidebar. Did notice that whatever I change it to in

How I solved this in Windows 2.46:

Go to Edit > Preferences > Browser > Internet Search

Click on Manage Search Engines...

Delete every option but your search engine of choice in the pick-list. That engine
will be the new default.

Clicking on Restore Defaults, afterwards, will restore the list but won't change the
default.

Disabling Lightning doesn't help :-(

Maybe Mnenhy is just not compatible with SM 2.46?

If anyone is using that extension on SM 2.46 or higher,

Probably broken by the upgrade tread-mill :-(

I used it for Message-ID Search and Custom Headers/X-Faces.

Any other extension supporting those features?

Probably just a dead and unsupported add-on.

It is likely that the original author has stopped working on that
add-on. However, someone else picked up the ball:

Would this breakage have anything to do with the fact that the XUL/XPCOM
SDK is being deprecated in the near future? I am writing/maintaining a
similar add-on (to display Face/X-Face/etc. headers in the header area),
and I think that my add-on will most likely break soon too.

Independently, two developers have provided an updated
(unofficial) forked version:

By Hartmut Figge -- pointed out by Mc in #seamonkey

Selecting the Search engine in the Side bar works.
URL search now uses StartPage. Thanks!

Are you aware of other extensions which provide these features:

1) Message-ID Search
2) Display Custom Headers/X-Faces (I can live without that)
3) inline decoding of base64

Delete all the search engines in the pick list but the one you want. That becomes
your new default.

If this bug is ever fixed, Restore Defaults will restore all choices, so nothing
irreversible.

browser.search.defaultenginename = Startpage

browser.search.order.1 = DuckDuckGo (default val)

How to get the old behavior back?

Setting the default search engine no longer works. Its gone and always mirrors
the
current search engine. This is a known problem and tracked in Bug 1265881:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1265881

Check the bug for a workaround.

Mnenhy is incompatible with 2.46. The author no longer seems to update the
add-on.
Nothing we can do about it because of changes in the backend.

Last Updated: February 25, 2014

Probably broken by the upgrade tread-mill :-(

I used it for Message-ID Search and Custom Headers/X-Faces.

Any other extension supporting those features?

Regards.

Disabling Lightning doesn't help :-(

Maybe Mnenhy is just not compatible with SM 2.46?

says Works with Thunderbird 3.0 - 29.0a1

If anyone is using that extension on SM 2.46 or higher,

akalla version 2.46 issues

2016-11-20 Thread Mason83
Hello,

I'm trying out this version:
https://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~akalla/unofficial/seamonkey/nightly/latest-comm-release-windows32/seamonkey-2.46.en-US.win32.installer.exe

Issues:

1) I was using the StartPage search engine for searches done directly
in the location bar. It now goes to duckduckgo.

2) When I display an email or NG message, the header pane was empty.
Removing the Mnenhy add-on seems to have fixed that.
Will try reinstalling.
