Problem installing Seamonkey 2.7.1 for a friend
The problem is that they can not connect to their internet provider. They and I both use comcast.net. I've been connected for years without a problem. I've called comcast and we are using the correct port and the server setting are correct. But comcast still does not connect. Any Ideas? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

So you need to double-click on a file, and after that you *must* give all de details for the pop/smtp parameters. It seems impossible to install SM mail silently. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Both David and the OP use Windows, too. Why does the OP want SM to not ask?? Because it's annoying, if you *don't* want Seamonkey to be the default browser. Also, if the user he's setting up the machine for is not very savvy, he might not be able to change back the default browser to the desired one after clicking yes on Seamonkey. There might be good reasons to leaving another browser as default. For instance, perhaps he has some application which opens web pages automatically -- but those are badly-written IE-only pages. For a long, long time I did exactly the same -- left IE as default, despite using Seamonkey almost exclusively -- because of that. With the de facto monopoly of IE effectively ended, I no longer find it necessary (even the Microsoft webpages now mostly work in other browsers), though once in a while I still have to manually copy an URL and open it in IE... -- MCBastos This message has been protected with the 2ROT13 algorithm.
