2001-05-19 Thread jgrove5540

Just a comment on the green groups and the result of their phlosophy. As a
50something menber of society, I remember green groups chaining themselves in
front of nuclear power plants and new plants in general, now the governor of
that great state wants someone-else to polute their state and give them power
at cost. The best answer is to let oil prices rise (forcing alternative
development). The general public will-not voluntarily conserve unless by cost
or penalty. Some good far-thinking people will most will not

[biofuel] by-pass filter

2001-05-12 Thread jgrove5540

Please bring me up to speed on the by-pass filter you people continually
mention. I thought a by-pass filter let whatever is being filtered by--pass
the filter media when the filter elements get plugged enough to restrice flow?

Re: [biofuel] HELP

2001-05-06 Thread jgrove5540

Thanks Todd, you have been a great help, I cant say that I was successful on
the first try, my first method of adjatation was too slow and I ended up with
some nasty globby stuff that made me wish that I hadnt invested in 55gal of
methanol. It look good now but the wash had me puzzled. Ther is a definate
seperation now but the clearer is on the bottom?

Re: [biofuel] HELP

2001-05-06 Thread jgrove5540

I drain off about 2gal of glicerine from the bottom after the first
stage,5liters of methanol after the second stage I drain off about a liter.
It looks good and pours clear of any floating fat or glicerine, although its
about the color of dark tea although when pouring it it looks lighter, secong
stage is same as the first with 3 liters of methanol and lye I use 3.25 per
liter of lye or 8 oz. per 8 gal. After second stage looks the same but smells
quite a bit stronger of biodiesel

Like I said before a lack of atmospheric pressure is (vacuum) which will work
the fogger? Does anyone know if biodiesel needs to be washed if mixed 50/50
with regular diesel fuel, and if you wash it can isopropyl alc. be used
instead boiling the fuel to remove final water content? Thanks

Re: [biofuel] fogger questions

2001-04-30 Thread jgrove5540

An engine is nothing more than an air pump try putting your hand over the
mouth of the carburator on the filter side and tell me that atmospheric
pressure is pulling your hand in. the vacuum reverses from engine to filter
side of the throttle plates as the speed of the air pump increases. granted
there is not as much restriction but you should get a ventura affect with
vacuum increasing as engine speed increases.

Re: [biofuel] foggers

2001-04-29 Thread jgrove5540

Wondering why the vacuum line is not introduced on the intake side of the
throttle plates where vacuum increases as engine rpm increases ? On the
engine side of the throttle plates vacuum decreases as engine speed
increases?
