And more importantly what type of rubber do they have. There are
synthetic 'rubbers' and vegetable rubbers. IIRC vegetable rubber is
good with mineral oils and petrochemicals but is disolved by vegetable
oil.  Synthetic rubber is what you want for compatibility with veggie
oil.  Perhaps all that you need to do is replace the seals.

BTW the new heater element I put in my tank (and the old one that I
took out) has a rubber gasket.  It didn't appear to be under attack
from the BD or oil.

Ian,

No pump should fail with but one flush of biodiesel unless they were 
already on their way out. It would take some pretty spongy seals for 
that to be the case.

After 1 batch the pump sprung a terminal leak 
so I decided to pull it apart only to  find out  that it had 
rubber seals. I then pulled anther pump apart to find "hello" rubber 
seals.
If Alex uses WM pump what brand are 
they?
