Re: [biofuel] foggers

2001-04-29 Thread David Teal

Dick
Thanks for your eagerly awaited report on long-term trials with the fogger
fitted to your small Fiat. Actual data are so much more useful than
conjecture and assertion don't you think. My fogger appears to work well,
but I dont use that particular car very much. I wonder whether the improved
mpg figures you report are partly a result of being able to pull a higher
gear without labouring the engine. Perhaps you have some subjective feel
for this?

David

David,

Wish I could contribute. Running diesel here and wrapped up beyond my gills
in bio-d.

If y'all can send me (or post) an "idjit proof" set of plans(yes I kinda
prefer pictures , but detailed instructions will do as well :) I would
consider adding one to my '99 dodge ram (318 CI gashog). I would also like
further info of dangers associated with small errors (like Mr. Rabello's
bent rod).

involved or interested seems to be as follows: Dick Carlstein, David Teal,
Munirna, Dick Carmichael, Marc de Piolenc possibly, and myself. There must
be others. Can you let us know who you are? Results from as many places and
people as possible would be interesting and have more meaning.

Wondering why the vacuum line is not introduced on the intake side of the
throttle plates where vacuum increases as engine rpm increases ? On the
engine side of the throttle plates vacuum decreases as engine speed
increases?

Re: [biofuel] foggers

2001-04-29 Thread David Reid

Dick,
Thankyou for your reply. The results you report seem very positive.
Offhand according to a friend I believe the A.A. tested them here a number
of years ago and the results wernt all that encouraging. This conflicts a
little with your experience. May have a bit to do with when they were tested
and the vehicles they were tested with. (Possibly done late 70s, early 80s,
or even earlier I would imagine when the majority of our vehicles were 10 to
20 years older and carburettors and engines were a bit more basic. Otherwise
as Argentina is not that much further north than NZ in latitude would not
have expected that much discrepancy. Where are you located and what is the
altitude? Have heard reports of people here toying with water injection and
reporting the opposite.Possibly worth toying with myself and seeing what
results I come up with which I will probably do. Do you use any type of
anti-mould additive or inhibiter?
B.r., David
