[svg-developers] Re: SVG Viewer for firefox
Hi, ASV3 does not work in firefox - that's a known issue. However, ASV6 works perfectly fine. You just need to install it manuall. Just install ASV6 with the installer and then manually copy all the files from the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SVG Viewer 6.0\Plugins or your equivalent path to the firefox plugins folder. I would really recommend ASV6 with firefox and I don't seem to have any problems with this configuration. On the other hand you might also want to test the native SVG support in firefox with a SVG enabled firefox build ---> see http://www.mozilla.org/projects/svg/build.html it's already fine for many applications, although not everything is supported now. [svg-developers] Re: Learning curve... and development environment
As for exporting Excel to XML/SVG, I wrote a VBA script to iterate all shapes in worksheet and export them to XML using MSXML. I am working slowly on writing XSLT to convert this Excel_XML into SVG now. I need to use path to mimic the Excel autoshapes in SVG. But b/c the autoshape's path changes when excel user adjusts those free handles, it is too laborous to take care of all autoshapes in SVG. I may end up with only couple of the autoshapes. BTW, the Save to XML in Excel will discard all drawings. Tao --- In svg-developers@yahoogroups.com, Marjorie Roswell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello SVG Developers, > > I'm an eager learner. [svg-developers] Problem inserting an image in a svg document
Hi everybody, I have a svg document in which I insert an image (.gif) by writing : I have some javascript functions that controle interactivity (for instance zomm, pan, ...). The problem is that when those functions are called, the svg is really too slow to be (re-)displayed. If I remove the image, everything works fine. It seems to depend also on the image size. Does anyone know what's going wrong ? Is there another way to display an image in a svg document that would work better ? Thanks a lot. Julie PS : the image size is 17 Ko - To unsubscribe send a message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -or- visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svg-developers and click "edit my membership" Yahoo! [svg-developers] Re: getURL() callback and class instance variables
Jorg, Unfortunately I'm not sure where I read that, it was ages ago and the documentation has always been pretty sparse. Probably saw it in someone's code... As for setting different callback function for different URLs: MyClass.prototype.blafunction = function() { // set operationComplete method to method operation1 this.operationComplete = this.operation1; getURL(someurl, this); } MyClass.prototype.foofunction = function() { // set operationComplete method to method operation2 this.operationComplete = this.operation2; getURL(someurl, this); } Would allow you to change the callback function. Alternatively, you could create a new object that implements the operationComplete method and has a reference to the original object: MyClass.prototype.foofunction = function() { Object obj = new Object(); obj.reference = this; obj.operationComplete = this.function1; getURL(someurl, obj); } that might work for you as well... cheers, Chris --- In svg-developers@yahoogroups.com, Jorg Heymans <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Thanks for the tip, but ideally, I need to be able to setup different > callback functions for different URLs. > > Is this stuff documented anywhere? Re: [svg-developers] Re: getURL() callback and class instance variables
Thanks for the tip, but ideally, I need to be able to setup different callback functions for different URLs. Is this stuff documented anywhere? Is there a reference API document for ASV3 ? I've got the one from Adobe itself already, it is merely a listing of all(?) objects and methods without any documentation. In some layers only the overlapping elements (&& operator) are selected. If you load additional data, a getURL call is issued for each dynamic map layer. On data reception, I first delete the old group and then append the new group received by getURL. > Great, I am trying to implement this concept in the following > weeks...I will try your suggestion about the sesssion. Just add a new levels attribute or use existing attributes. In a river network, your major rivers would get a higher level than smaller rivers. Same for the roads network. You can also switch datasets (tables) upon traversing a threshold value.
