1) Checked for all material installed in $HOME and removed it
   (including ~/.sword).

2) $ installmgr -init
   $ installmgr -r CrossWire
   $ installmgr -ri CrossWire CzeCSP
   $ diatheke -b CzeCSP -k Jn 3:16

3) Got no output whatsoever.

4) Removed ~/.sword again, and started Xiphos.

5) Reinstalled modules, and now even diatheke works.

6) The only remaining problem is that Xiphos randomly complains,
   that “Module error: Unusable xref encoding. Please, report
   this with module & verse”. Module is my CzeCSP, but when
   I switched to another module and back, it is gone. Stderr
   contains multiple messages “Error reading ulBuffNum”.

Hmm,

Matěj

Hi guys. How were the modules installed? Where are they installed?
Are the data files readable by the user running these commands?

 I just came back to this after watching your video when you first sent
 this last week. I have no explanation, but do you get the same behavior
 out of BT, for example? My only guess is some kind of app/engine
 mismatch. I have never seen this.

One interesting datapoint ... apparently it is not just xiphos,
but something deeper. This command should give a bit more than
it does, right?

 ~$ diatheke -b ESV -k Jn 3:16
John 3:16: : (ESV)
 ~$ rpm -qf $(which diatheke)
sword-1.7.3-9.el7.x86_64
 ~$

(the same for other modules, and yes installmgr -l shows that
ESV is installed)

Any thoughts?

Blessings,

No other application, and it is a problem even when
I distro-synced all *sword* *bible* *xiphos* with EPEL
repositories.

[sword-devel] Xiphos, blank pages

2015-10-19 Thread Matěj Cepl
Hi,

could anybody suggest why xiphos shows me just blank pages and
it is not able to switch between the verses (see
https://mcepl.fedorapeople.org/tmp/xiphos-blank-not-switching.webm
). I am on RHEL-7 using

~$ rpm -qa xiphos\* sword
xiphos-gtk2-4.0.4-1.el7.x86_64
xiphos-debuginfo-4.0.4-1.el7.x86_64
sword-1.7.4-4.el7.x86_64
xiphos-common-4.0.4-1.el7.x86_64
xiphos-gtk3-4.0.4-1.el7.x86_64
~$

Best,

Matěj
