Hi, After reading the loadDbalConnection method of DoctrineExtension ( http://github.com/symfony/symfony/blob/master/src/Symfony/Bundle/DoctrineBundle/DependencyInjection/DoctrineExtension.php#L137 ) I think you could test something like this: doctrine.dbal: connections: default: dbname: sf2test user: root password: pass driver: PDOMySql charset: utf8 But I have no idea for the collation option. [symfony-users] General question about how to realize Internationalization
Hello! I'm looking for a nice solution how to refractor a dirty code snippet which runs threw the code. The actual state: My symfony project runs on two dedicated servers. The first server hosts the site for the tld 'at' and the second one for 'de' and 'ch'. So all of them are german based websites, but for the future other languages will be available as well. If I need different values for a domain I call a method getCountryCode(), which looks like this:
function getCountryCode() { if ($_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] == domain.at || $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] == www.domain.at) { return AT; } else if ($_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] == domain.ch || $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] == www.domain.ch) { return CH; } else { return DE; } }
As I guess it isn't the best way to do this, but this has been done by another developer. One possibilty would be to generate different files for each domain and server but that would be a lot of files... Re: [symfony-users] Re: Equivalent to setPeerCountMethod in Doctrine
Just found it. There is an equivalent: $pager-setCountQuery($query, [params]) The only thing you need to do is in your pagination navigation helper: $pagerRange = $pager-getRange('Sliding',array('chunk' = 5)); $pages = $pagerRange-rangeAroundPage(); foreach ($pages as $page) On Tue, Sep 14, 2010 at 3:15 PM, ScherlOMatic stefan.scherbich...@gmail.com wrote: Hi! [symfony-users] Re: Connection to MS sql server
Hello, Could you give us a little more information about your setup? OS, PHP Version, etc. The only time I needed to create a symfony project that talked to a MSSQL instance I used pdo_mssql on Windows (dev machine) and pdo_dblib on the production server (Linux). I won't say it was an easy thing to do, specially since pdo_mssql suffers from the same problems that the traditional mssql driver had (probably because it's simply a wrapper around mssql using PDO and not a new implementation, I guess). One issue that is still present on my nightmares at night is the one where you cannot reference database objects (like fields and tables) using their names, if their names are more than 30 characters long. Something along the lines of: SELECT really_long_column_name_for_example FROM example Even though this query would be executed normally, when trying to access the column value by it's index name, it would fail. That happens because what the driver would actually return is a column name truncated on 30 characters, or using the above example, really_long_column_name_for_ex. This is more of a problem when you start using something like Doctrine, because it creates and returns an alias for the column field based on its name AND the alias of the table that contains it. Which would produce even longer indexes... To summarize, it's a PITA to use pdo_mssql. Thank God Doctrine 2 will be using sqlsvr instead of this s**tty solution. Hope I could have been of any help. =) On Sep 9, 8:18 am, ziclo lauren...@gmail.com wrote: Hi everybody, I'm trying to add a new database to my symfony project. [symfony-users] media server support for static content
Hi, The following is not strictly symfony related but I'm hoping someone on the list can give me a hint for a solution. I have several websites: * fish.com * eagle.com * bear.com and I want all the static resources (css, js, images, uploads) to be served by a common domain, let's say media.fish.com. I solved the Symfony part of this (the inclusion of static content css, js) to have that domain included in the path and this is configurable via a configuration file (one can choose between serving the content from media.fish.com or via their own domain as relative path) and I have different configurations for each environment live, stagging, dev. The major problem I'm facing is that static content, images linked in the resources files such as css, js use a relative path. I could replace this with an absolute path that has the media.fish.com domain included in the URL but this would force me to use that domain even for stagging/development environments which I don't want. I'm curious how people solve this problem, if you faced such issues your feedback is welcome. gabriel -- If you want to report a vulnerability issue on symfony, please send it to security at symfony-project.com You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups symfony users group.
