America's most accomplished Muslim athlete over KK?

Bolden certainly has a point.
An athlete must stay away from over the counter cold medications and
must know about the ingredients in restaurant food.
According to a group in California, Starbucks uses ephedrine as an

Imagine the outrage that Ado would feel if he tested positive after

t-and-f: DELTA AIRLINES STINK

2001-09-23 Thread John

I was planning on taking my team, Don Bosco Prep of Ramesy NJ, for an
exciting cross country weekend at Disney in early October. We had
looked forward to this trip for many months. Then the recent events of
September 11th and all our plans were changed. The school did not feel
that it was right to aks these boys to step on a plane, which I totally
agree. Many of the parents were also concerned about the possible trip
so we called it off.

I contacted the hotel(Amerisuites) where we had signed a contract, they
understood, canceled the rooms with no penalty, and wished us the
best. Disney is returning our entry fee, this is unheard of-nor was it
asked for. But Delta airlines has refused to refund our tickets. HOW
LOW CAN YO GO? They have offered that we can use the tickets for 1
year, but have to pay fees of $100.00 per ticket. That is 1/2 the
value. DELTA STICKS!!

Many of us were effected by the events of September 11th and have lost
family and friends. Now Delta looks to steal our money! Below you will
see their response to us regarding a refund request. Can any of you
help?

Thank you,

John Nepolitan
Don Bosco Prep
Ramsey, NJ

Dear Mr. Nepolitan,

Thank you for contacting Delta Air Lines.

Thank you for your additional comments. In light of the recent events,
we can appreciate your decision not to travel.

While we would like to offer special consideration to your request, we
are unable to honor the many similar requests that we receive from
others in equally deserving situations. We established and adhere to a
consistent refund policy that ensures Delta is equitable to everyone who

travels with us. Consequently, we respectfully decline your request for

a refund.

We are hopeful that as time goes on your confidence in the nations
airline industry will be renewed. Since your ticket is valid for one
year from the issue date, the residual value of your ticket, after
applicable service fees and penalties are applied, may be used toward
future travel.

We would welcome a future opportunity to be of service.

We appreciate your interest in Delta Air Lines.

Sincerely,

Suggestion: for a while Amtrak was honoring airline
tickets, and was willing to exchange them for train
tickets, providing that seats were available...
...you could always check with them.

As for Delta- most of us aren't this old, but compare
it to the runs on banks that occured for a couple of
years after the '29 stock market crash.
Banks didn't have any option but to close their doors-
they didn't keep around cash equivalent to everybody's
deposits- that's what they used to make loans (in
many cases to the same people who wanted to cash
out their checking or savings accounts!)
That eventually resulted in FDR rolling out FDIC
as a confidence hedge against bank runs.

Now say you're the CEO of Delta (substitute American,
United, or just about any other U.S. airline).
You're operating on an operating cash margin of just
a few days, due to a very bad year.
Then N.Y. hits, and you're swamped with a zillion
cancellations. What do you do?
Midway declared bankruptcy and locked the doors.
Delta and many others are offering credits toward
future travel.
I can sympathize with their financial situation.
Things are desperate, and that's not an understatement.
That's why Bush just signed a congressional bill of
financial aid to the airlines, to help keep them
afloat.
(yes, I'm a financial analyst at Boeing, but you don't
have to be a bean counter to recognize a rotten bean
when you see one...)

I know this doesn't help with the disappointment for
the cross country kids, but after all, there IS a
war on!

Can any of you
help?

Thank you,

Contact your local Congressman (or woman) and ask them to either call or
write a letter to the Airlines .. Since they are requesting Billions of
dollars of bailout money, I am sure communications from someone who will
have a say will go a long way ...
