t-and-f: Conduct and College Athletes (Rios)

2001-04-01 Thread Flowman21
Mr. Elders,

I am writing to you from TNFmedia.com, and copying the t-and-f list.
In regards to your dismissal of Leilani Rios, and comment "Rios' job violates
the university's code of conduct, which specifies
that Titan athletes should behave respectably, not
cause disturbances or use foul language, and "give everyone
who sees them a positive image of Titan student-
athletes."

My question to you: Do you enforce this Code of Conduct based upon behavior
alone, or is it only enforced in cases where this behavior is publicized?

This is a very powerful question, and I urge you to give it some thought- Do
you kick off the male athletes for using foul language at practice? Or are
you sending the message that NONE of your athletes uses foul language?
Being a former collegiate runner myself, I would have to say that there might
just be one male athlete on your team who might have violated this "Code of
Conduct" in your presence, and not dismissed.?
In other words, are you telling us that no student athlete of yours has ever
used foul language in your presence? And if they have, did you dismiss them
from the team?

Let's take a look at this-Is it really about conduct? Or is it about your and
your facilities interpretation and selective enforcement of this "code".

Good luck, and let's make sure that we never hear a CS Fullerton athlete use
foul language at a meet. It might be cause for dismissal.

Darrell,

My expectation is that my message has as much meaning as your most
intelligent post in the past three years. In other words, no.

However, I was simply responding to the quote from Elders himself.

"Rios' job violates the university's code of conduct, which specifies
that Titan athletes should behave respectably, not
cause disturbances or use foul language, and "give everyone
who sees them a positive image of Titan student-

Read it over, re read my post, and it should make sense. If not, I'm sorry.

PS. If you are interested in meaningful messages, you might want to find

You have a great point. The weather was always a barrier for us in Utah as

California, I can't think of more than about 4 or 5 guys that were worth
anything at all. Keep in mind that this is on the collegiate level. Coming

28th birthday on Friday. He will celebrate by marching in the Olympic Opening
 Ceremonies."

If I recall, Goucher graduated HS in 1994. According to the above information,
Goucher was nearly 22 years of age when he graduated HS? Am I missing something here?

That would still make Culpepper 19 when he graduated high school?

Again,
I don't want to piss on anyone's parade, but..

Jacobs wasn't scheduled to race until the 27th of September.?
When did she officially withdraw from the OG?

I think those of us who have had Viral infections know that they don't ALL
last TWO weeks.

Was she some kind of prognosticator? Did she know that this virus she has
lasts longer than two weeks.

What if an Olympic athlete tells someone how they feel, and someone prints
that on the net?

Please let me know who is in charge of this rule!
I have to believe that this is a joke. If it is not, then the Olympic Games are a
joke.

Please clarify. Bunston, you are a smart guy, but don't BS us.

t-and-f: Writers needed.

2000-08-29 Thread Flowman21

Schiefer here.
I'm getting ready to boost up TNFmedia.com's internet presence. I need
writers, both interns, and I can actually pay a little of money now.

Obviously, for payment, it would have to be a pretty significant piece, or a
series of pieces.

For some of you younger guys who need intern work, I will be happy to take a
look at your meet coverages, editorials, etc.

Please contact me for more information.
