Re: t-and-f: Coaches of Foot Locker Qualifiers

2004-11-30 Thread Glenn Arndt
Doug Snyder of New Prairie High School in Indiana has coached 2 boys and 1
girl to the Kinney meet.
Carol Gray was 10th in 1984 and 3rd in 1985. Dave DeNeve was 19th in 1987.
Mike McClaran was 13th in 1989 and I believe he qualified in 1988 as well.
(the Footlocker website has 1998's results where the 1988's should be).

Re: t-and-f: Cannon Classic w5K lap short?

2002-02-11 Thread Glenn Arndt

I announced the meet and can personally attest that the women ran all 25
laps. I was standing right next to the lap counter and was keeping kilo
splits so I could see what pace they were hitting. They started out around
16:30 pace and kept plugging away from there.

> I don't mean to doubt the times the women ran in the 5000 at this
weekend's Cannon Classic (hosted by Butler at the NIHS), but the times seem
awfully fast for some women who haven't run very fast before. I was just
wondering if any listmembers were at the meet and can confirm that they ran
25 laps (i.e. you were watching a teammate or were splitting someone).

flat 200m track at Central Collegiates, so the times aren't outrageous, and
I know the track is super fast, but it's sometimes necessary to check such
things. Thanks for any help you can give Please respond to me off-list.
