Hello,

As I am looking for another System, I thought I would ask the List,
if any here use a computer than has an AMD Chip, and if so, do you
suffer any strange behaviour because of it? How does Window eyes
work with the AMD Chips.

Thanks,

Dave

RE: Disgussion of problems with keyboards.

2015-04-28 Thread Rick Blair via Talk
I do not believe that the support person advocated that an external keyboard
was a permanent solution, but only for assistance in trouble shooting your
problem. There are many of us that have HP laptops that do not exhibit the
problem that you are having. It would be nearly impossible for AI Squared to
replicate your unique situation in their labs. Hence, I believe that they are
asking for your assistance to help diagnose and fix your particular issue.

Good evening all,

As all of you know after reading a few messages about the problem that I’m
having with my laptop computer , I’m still not able to use my keyboards laptop
delete key, nor am I able to use my F8 key too begin the selection process.
Perhaps I’m wrong too suggest this, but I think that there might be a conflict
problem between the window eyes program, and keyboards on HP laptops. I did
have a discussion with a tek support person about this issue. I first tried
disabling the insert key layout, and then setting the keyboard too laptop key
layout, and had no success with any of these suggestions. It was suggested,
that I try hooking up an external keyboard to the laptop, and seeing if the
two problems disappear. The thing here is, why should we be asked too do that
when it means having to have to carry an extra peace of hardware just to be
able too use a delete key, when there is a delete key that is already on a
persons laptop computer.. This is something I believe, that needs to be looked
into so that future problems like this don’t have too happen for those of us
that use and want too use laptops. This is not meant too be interpreted as a
chritizism towards the developers and programmers of windoweyes, but I think
that this issue needs too be addressed.

Hi,
I use an amd chip on my laptop, and intel quad core on my desktop, and I
don't see any difference.
The problem I find is using WE9.1 with specific programs.

I also recommend getting your computer from a store, like Costco, that
will return your money for any reason.
Good luck,
Manny

RE: we 9.1 outlook 2003 red problems

2015-04-28 Thread via Talk
Hi, fellas.

After Updating to WE nine, I also lost my message red/ unred status icons in
Outlook twenty oh three. What I did to get them back was to open Outlook and
route the WE mouse pointer to the list view, then move by clip--that's num
pad insert- 7 and num pad insert 9--to find the icon. You could use sighted
assistance to locate the graphics, or you could do it the way I did, which
was to locate the icons thus.

Scanning the email list, I selected a message I knew I had already read,
routed the mouse pointer to the email message, then moved by clip until I
heard WE say, graphic. Then I pressed Control-Shift-e to open the graphic
dictionary. The graphic dictionary dialog opened and focus was in the speech
label edit box. I typed the word red (that's r e d) and then tabbed to the
update entry button and pressed spacebar.

I followed the same steps to label the unred (that's u n r e d), the
attachment, the replied to, and the forwarded icons. In order to make sure
the forwarded icon would appear, I chose a message from the list and
forwarded it to myself. To make the attachment icon appear, I attached a
small file to an email and sent it to myself. When I reply to a message I
had read, the icon changes from red to replied to, so during the course of
ordinary correspondence, I had to remember to find a message to which I had
replied and followed the same steps to label the replied to icon.

As for WE speaking no flag, the solution is simpler. From the Outlook inbox,
open the WE control panel and navigate the settings tree view down to
dictionaries, press right arrow to expand, then down arrow to graphics. Tab
to the dictionary contents list and press the letter n until you land on no
flag, or, arrow down if you prefer. Now, there are two ways of handling this
entry. The first is to shift tab to the speech label silence graphic check
box and check it. Now tab to the update entry button and press space bar.
There are other check boxes, such as silence Braille, and you may need to
check those as well.

The second solution is to delete the graphic. Basically, after you have
located the no flag entry in the list, tab to the remove entry button and
press space bar. I don't know if you need to tab to the update entry button
and press it, but might as well, right? Same goes for save settings. It
doesn't hurt to press those buttons even if it's not necessary, and, it
could save you having to add your entries all over again.

hth,
Lou N.
