Betreff: accessible markdown syntax list

Hi. Does anyone know where I can find a good reference list for learning
markdown? I had one from maketecheasier.com but it's really confusing and,
well, not accessible. I'm just talking basic markdown, not anything site
specific like for github or something. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Dave

RE: help, huge thunderbird problem

2015-09-10 Thread Chris Grabowski via Talk
What version of Window-eyes are you running?
If running 8.4 it sounds like you may be in browse mode.
Try pressing control-shift-a to turn off browse mode and shift-tab/tab a couple
of times.

Hit escape to close a message. That works most of the time but not always.

Question, what did I do or not do? And what can I do to rectify this

But this is a bit more than a pain everytime I wish to read my mail
especially since I am so use to using ThunderBird!

P.S. I am able to compose mail using ThunderBird.
  Can anyone help..?

Hi,

You are using the toggle voices hot key which merely bounces between the
last two voices used, and the default hot key, again, is
Control-Shift-Windows-F2.
If you want to rotate backwards through your list, the default hot key is
Shift-Windows-F2.

Re: Mouse keys are not working as they used to

2015-09-10 Thread Nancy B. Gibson via Talk

Hi List,

This may be a really dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway because I'd
sure like to find out if there's anything I can do about it.

I'm using IE 11 with WE 9.2 on a Windows 7 system. The only thing I ever get
when I use the numpad keys (which I believe are considered the mouse keys), is
a list of what's on the menu bars -- things like back, forward, file,
favorites, tools etc. Sometimes way at the bottom of all that is some of the
actual web page I'm on. I've changed the mouse boundaries to every different
setting and it makes no difference. Is there something I'm missing? BTW: This
is not new. It's been the same through IE 10 and I think 9 and previous
versions of WE. I just lived with it figuring there was nothing I could do.

Today I tried the demo version of JAWS 16 to see what it would do and the
numpad keys read the contents of the page without any of the menu/tool bar
stuff. Any thoughts on what I can or need to do to make WE read the page
contents like JAWS does?

I'm not an expert on mouse keys, but I find that they don't do what I want

Today I tried the demo version of JAWS 16 to see what it would do and the
numpad keys read the contents of the page without any of the menu/tool bar
stuff. Any thoughts on what I can or need to do to make WE read the page
contents like JAWS does?

Hi Nancy,

Instead of trying to read from the top down use the mouse route to focus
key, Numpad-Insert-Plus. Then move from there. Sometimes moving by clip
works better than by line. But moving by word and character usually work
fine.

Hi List,

This may be a really dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway because I'd

Robin,
My first recommendation would be to try different Window-Eyes mouse
boundaries to see if that helps. Maybe you accidentally changed the
Window-Eyes mouse boundary to a setting that you normally don't use. The
hotkey to cycle among the options is Control-Shift-B.
Kind Regards,

Hi - My mouse keys aren't working as they used to and I'm not sure what I
may have done or what changed. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit and WE 9.1. I think

this started a couple days ago, but I can't be sure. Here are some
examples.

1. If I'm in a Windows Explorer view, hitting numpad 7 used to take me
to the very top of the window on the title bar. Now hitting numpad 7 says
top left, but it takes me to the beginning of the first file or folder name
in the view. Numpad 1 takes me to the last folder or file.

2. In my Outlook 2010 inbox, I'm taken to the top of my inbox with the
point sitting on one of the icons just left of "From" on the column headers.

Numpad 1 takes me to the last message in my inbox.

3. I use Cisco Jabber for instant messaging and have to use mouse
pointer to read much of it. Numpad 7 used to take me to the top of the
window where I could use numpad 2 to go down the window and see who was
messaging me and the status. I can't get this to work at all. I cannot
figure out where the pointer goes when I hit numpad 7 and it just dings if I

try to use mouse navigation afterward. This is the most problematic impact
right now.

4. On the Desktop, numpad 7 does take me to the top left corner. From
here, I get dings unless I have it set to line and then numpad 2 will read
each line of icons. I don't normally use mouse keys on the desktop screen,
so maybe this is normal function.

5. In Word 2010, numpad 7 takes me to an area off the document, at the
far left just below all the tool bars.

Any idea how to troubleshoot this? It's impacting my ability here at work.
I already tried restarting WE to see if it was a fluke.

w e has never put focuse on the desktop when you first boot.
w e will speak invisible screens from other programs.
like nod32. when i boot the computer the nod32 screen is there but invisible i
can even tab between some of the options that would be there if nod32 is opened
from the context screen.
i have to left mouse click on the desktop to put focuse there then the nod32
screen will not be detected by w e.

Running WE 9.2 on a Windows10 64 bit laptop. After a boot up and after
WE makes its normal starting verbiage. I then hear WE say something
like Sepr driver tray window. That first word is a little difficult to
understand but driver tray window is clear. I then have to hit Windows
key m to get to the desktop. Sighted help says there is nothing showing
on the task bar. Any ideas as to what this is would be appreciated.

RE: Amazon customer feedback star ratings

2015-09-10 Thread via Talk
Does the UK Amazon page have anything like this?

largeStars._V372372331_

On the North American site, there is a list of five of these. They work like
links and the star status is indicated just below the list.

In case there's a difference, I use amazon.co.uk
If you submit customer feedback on a purchase, a star rating is required.
>From the link Amazon sends me to enter such feedback, I see only "please
enter a rating", but no drop down or series of buttons for the number of
stars.
Does anybody have a solution for this?

Re: Amazon customer feedback star ratings

2015-09-10 Thread Reg Webb via Talk
Hi and thank you
Yes it does sometimes, but it depends on which kind of mail you're
getting from Amazon. It's different if, for instance, you're rating a
Marketplace seller as distinct from something from Amazon direct.
On the kind of page you mention, I really wish the links themselves were
labelled - that confused me initially.

Hi,

You are using the toggle voices hot key which merely bounces between the
last two voices used, and the default hot key, again, is
Control-Shift-Windows-F2.
If you want to rotate backwards through your list, the default hot key is
Shift-Windows-F2.
