i have never been able to use the image backup option even with windows 7.
it would crash every time.
the cloneing option has worked every time. with win 7 ,8 and 10 64bit.
there has been times when the clone completed but the backup drive would not

boot.
once i used casper 8 to wipe all partitions and then do a full clone the
drive
would boot again.

re wondering if you could use the tocr function for solving captias

2015-12-24 Thread Gary Melconian via Talk

solving captias. I could se this be a good way to solve captias that some of
these sites put up in order to accomplish a particular task. If this has not
been considered could it be looked at for future improvements to the OCR

Hi no it can't and probably never will. Captchas fool OCR programs,

I used Vipre for a while until I found out that it had some big problems.
After hearing that is was not reliable, I removed it and ran Malwarebytes
which found twenty some serious issues. Vipre had been telling me that
everything was fine.

If you're still running XP, I recommend Bit Defender. I have always found
Microsoft Security Essentials to be friendly and to work well with Vista and
Windows 7 and I now use Windows Defender with Windows 10. I have had no
virus problems, since I don't take chances and don't browse risky web sites.

crash reporter in thunderbird how to disable.

Hello. I could use some help in disabling the crash reporter in
Thunderbird for some reason it comes up once in a while since I do have
the latest update in Thunderbird and window eyes and also disabled the
close escape tab add on thinking it might help. It does a little. I did
read somewhere I have to disable the crash reporter in creating an
environment variable. I have never done that. It is kind of driving me
crazy how this keeps coming up. I never had this problem with
Thunderbird ever since I upgraded to 9.3.1. Any help would be wonderful.

Curious to do this, too. I just hunted all over the Explorer window and can't

Subject: How do I change a view in Windows 8.1: RE: Changing the folder view in
Windows 10 Was RE: Trying to find a Window-eyes setting

Hi.

I'd like my folder settings in Windows Explorer to be applied to all folders.
I'm using Windows 8.1. I tried to follow the steps for Windows 10, but I
didn't find an options choice in the File menu. I have music on my PC that has
their years in the file, and I have one folder configured the way I want the
details displayed. How do I get this to be applied to all folders?

Thanks for the help.

Happy holidays, whatever you celebrate, or at least have a nice Friday with

Re: web vissum work around

2015-12-24 Thread Reg Webb via Talk
Thanks Mark

It turns out someone had unchecked that box, since they thought it would
"help".

If anyone else finds themselves in this position, since W-E will crash
as soon as you try to get into about:config, you'll need to close W-E,
get yourself into "about:config" and get some eyes to make sure you've
found "config warning", make it true again, get out of there, and restart W-E.

Having done that, the turn autoload and browse mode off procedure works
as you said it would.

Thanks again

App Get

2015-12-24 Thread Michael Massey via Talk
Hi. Just a few minutes ago, I turned on both my laptop and desktop
computers, both running Windows 10. After the laptop booted up and
Window-eyes 9.3.1 launched, I was notified of an update available. So I
installed it. Yet when I check the installed updates in the add or remove
dialog, there is no update showing as being installed today. When I checked
the package manager to determine which updates are running, I hear that the
app get update is version 1.2.5, but the apps shown as running display a
version number 1.2.4. Could somebody please tell me why the app get version
numbers don't match? And can somebody tell me which update was installed on
my laptop after I am certain I heard the tone notifying me of an update and
an update downloaded and installed?

Outlook Enhance and Virtual View were updated yesterday. The only reason I can
think for your AppGet issue is that you tried to merge an old Window-Eyes
profile with a new one. If this is the case, delete your current profile and

The message was a reply to someone that wanted information on how to

OK, I found a shorter way.
Before going to the menu ribbon, choose your desired spacing using
ctrl1, ctrl2 or ctrl5.
Press alt p pg lands you on align
Shift tab 3 times to default and press enterand follow any prompts.
tab to and press enter on OK.

Fw: A qustion about log in

2015-12-24 Thread Robert Ringwald via Talk

Yes, how do you bypass the log in screen on

Windows 10
WE 9.2?

I'm supposed to put in a password or pin number. It is very hard to find as
WE is not fully functionable at that time.

Hello to the list once again.
In windows 8 the following command gets you to a screen so you can turn
off the log in screens at start up.

netplwiz

Does this same command work in Windows 10?
If not how do you turn off the log in screen at startup?
Kenneth Son.

Hi,
Press windows-r and type/paste:
Netplwiz

Uncheck the box that says users must logon to this computer using a user name
and password.
After you do that, you are prompted for your password. Type it in and press
tab. Type it in again and press enter.
