RE: WE 9.3 and Java

2016-01-18 Thread Joseph Norton via Talk
Hi Chris:

Tried it with full install of both WindowEyes for Office and the WindowEyes
demo just for fun.

Both do the same thing.

If I start the java control panel, it says, "Java Control Panel, Disabled"

However, if I revert to WE 9.2, the control panel speaks fine.

I even made sure the Java Access Bridge is installed.

I uninstalled the Access Bridge and re-installed it. The Java control Panel
spoke a few more things, but, I could still not tab around and get any
decent feedback. It is reading the various tab names in the Java Control
Panel, but, I still cannot tab around and change any settings, at least, I
cannot tab around and know what I am doing.

Thanks!

Hi list:

I have noticed with the latest version of WE that I can no longer access

Java content as previously.

The Access bridge gets installed, but, even the Java control panel does not

appear accessible.

I reverted back to 9.2 and it works again.

Until this is resolved, I will need to stay with WE 9.2.

  Thanks!

Re: SO FRUSTRATED ANYONE HELP WITH SCREEN READER PROBLEMS PLEASE

2016-01-18 Thread Edward Green via Talk
Hi Steve,

Have you tried calling RNIB to see if one of their tech volunteers can help?
They help get people get up and running with new tech and may also be able to
help in situations like this. I'm afraid I haven't used them so I've no idea
what the lead time is.

Are you using Window-Eyes for Office or the full version? If the latter, then
your Window-Eyes dealer may b able to help.

Cheers,

I don't know whether this is a WE issue or a Windows 10 issue but one
issue I find difficult to work with is not being to read the screen with
the mouse keys consistently. I am not talking about web pages but I
guess what you would call Windows screens. A typical example is trying
to read the screen when you do a manual check for windows updates.
Sometimes you can read the page just fine with the mouse keys and the
next time you only get that wonderful useless Windows ding. Sometimes
changing the focus helps and other times it doesn't help at all. If
this is a Window Eyes problem it needs to be addressed. If it is a
Windows issue Ai Squared needs to do what ever it takes to address the
issue. If there is a solution to this problem I would sure like to know
what it is .

Hi Ricky,

With the most recent versions of WE, you don't need to turn off MSAA mode,
since there is consistency between what you focus with WE and what the

Thanks

Re: unwanted subscriptions: Re: test messsage to see if it makes it to the list

2016-01-18 Thread Mike Rogers via Talk
Hi. I think this actually has to do with being unsubscribed by the list
servor, without asking. I've been unscribed three times in this manner. Each
time I just had to hit "reply" and send the message and was re-subscribed.
It's a flaw with the list serv. It's happened to several list members.
Nothing to do, but reply to the message.

Hi Ricky,

With the most recent versions of WE, you don't need to turn off MSAA mode,
since there is consistency between what you focus with WE and what the
sighted user sees.

All the best,

got a message that said I wanted to unsubscribe, but it said if I wanted to

Subject: How to force WE to read text

Hello,

I found a Bible program called "The Word".  It is Free and it looks like a
program that allows the user to run searches and bring up lots of info about
Bible verses.  Also has Lexicons, and Commentaries, and even Cross
Referencing.

The problem is that I can not make WE read the Bible text that comes up in a
window of its own.

Also, the Bible text can be scrolled by using the Up and Down Arrows.
However, nothing is read as these Arrows are used.

This Bible text is read if I move the Mouse Cursor.  I can read this Bible
text if I create a Standard Window and attach a short cut key to read Window
7 every time I press ALT 7.

As I move the cursor with the Arrow keys, the next verse will Highlight to a
back ground of Light Gray with Black lettering.  The normal page is White
with Black lettering.

The Bible verse where the cursor is placed, will not read if I use the
CTRL-num pad 5.

I could adjust settings in WE to read Highlighted text, but then I will read
everything WE thinks is highlighted all over the screen.  I do want to have
the text read as I move up or down the lines of text, but only want the text
that appears in the Bible Text Window in the Program.

--
Not sure if I have made my situation clear.  But if anyone has any ideas, or
even that might have some experience with setting up WE to work with this
program, I would love getting a bit of good counsel.

Thanks,

Grumpy Dave

Try internet explorer, but sometimes the website is poorly designed and
there isn't much you can do -- take them one at a time, ask on the list

Window-Eyes. Let the support team take a look and advise you. Perhaps, the
developers of the program, as good Christians, can make it accessible for
you and others.

Thanks,

Grumpy Dave

RE: SEVERE WINDOW-EYES PROBLEMS

2016-01-18 Thread Chris Grabowski via Talk
If you are having Window-eyes app errors, turn off apps by pressing insert-7.
The 7 is on the number row, not the number pad.
If I were you, I wouldn't do a system restore, this can make things worse.
Go to help and check for updates. Download and install 9.3.1 over itself.

RE: How to force WE to read text

2016-01-18 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Dave,

A hyperactive window could really help with this.
If you look up these in the manual, their purpose is clear.
So, you would set a hyperactive window to monitor the whole bible window,
and trigger when there's any change in the window, and, when there is, you
could set the reading of your user window seven as the action to perform.

Hth,

Rod

RE: OT blind finance list

2016-01-18 Thread Rick Thomas via Talk
Hi: I approved the membership but I don't know if there is any lag time
between approval and when you start getting mail or are able to send mail.
If you get a message from yahoo, the list, respond to it.
If I don't see a message in a little while I will send a test message to the
list to see if you get it.
Then you can respond to the test message.
Let me know if you don't hear anything today just in case.
