Hi, Sharing my specific problems to get feedback and perhaps someone can find the missing link to this problem. copy of emails between tech support and myself: WE9.3 stops talking with Firefox, I. E. 11, Fritz 12, Chessbase 11, and Scottrade Elite. In the case of the Scottrade Elite, here is a copy of the technical problem, causing WE9.3 to stop speaking, as per tech support: ""I got your Window-Eyes process dump analyzed this morning. The issue, unfortunately, appears to be related to ScottTrade and UIA. Window-Eyes has queried ScottTrade for information about the UIA element underneath the mouse pointer, and ScottTrade never replies, leaving Window-Eyes hung, waiting for a response." I spoke to Bill Holden, who is having the same issue with the Elite, and he says that he does not lose speech when using Jaws. He said that in jaws he has to manually change from one mouse to another when right clicking the mouse. I hope this info helps find a solution."..." The fact that WE9.3 needs to ask a question This very confusing to me. Why would a screen reader need to ask a question to a program, when it's function is to read the screen? More importantly, are all the other programs where WE9.3 is losing speech being caused by the same problem? I.e., WE9.3 is asking a question and the program is not responding? I don't know what I did, but I found File Explorer--right where it should be. I just kept pressing Escape and the left long bar at the bottome of the machine. Very weird indeed. So if anyone answers my previous query, it still might be useful info. Peace. Re: the case of the missing file explorer
Hi Linet, I find that the best way for me to find my downloads is from the browser itself. In firefox, I just press control j and I arrow through the list of downloads. When I find the file I want, I press the context key and select open containing folder, and I just open it or cut and paste it to where I want the file to live. Hi Barbara, I think you are having trouble finding the correct add on. The add-on manager in internet explorer is a pretty difficult interface to work with. If you would like some one on one help, maybe you can try calling the Microsoft disability answer desk. They should be able to assist you with this process. So, if you are comfortable with Windows 7, 8, or 8.1, this tool will help you decide when, or whether to upgrade to Windows 10. As far as I know, you may not need to be as concerned after July 29, as MicroSoft is going to charge for updating to Windows 10 after that, so, I doubt they will push it as heavily at that point. If you want to download this tool, you can get it from: http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/ There are both an installer and a stand-alone executable that you can just run if you don't like installers. The advantage of installing the product is that it can watch your system and warn you if MicroSoft begins pushing Windows 10 to you. Re: major thunderbird problems
I am not sure what is happening with tb for you but I have had no problems and I am using the latest tb, and win-eyes 9.3.1 I am also using windows 10 64 bit. I am not sure why you are having problems but you might want to call for tech help. Rick On 2/24/2016 11:13 PM, Jed Barton via Talk wrote: guys, i can not deeal with this thunderbird problem. There hss to be something wrong. It's virtually unusable. Even after someone suggested i downgrade, it's no better, in fact it's even worse. I'll start typing a message, and it just says stuff like no frame, not a valid key press. The only way to fix it is to turn browse mode off. Why should i ahve to do that, cause then i can't edit anything unless i turn browse mode back on. Why would it do this. I'm typing best, i'm not even on a web page. Is anyone else having these issues with TB?Guy ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. RE: Update Warning
Hi Dennis: If you have Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 and don't want to be forced to upgrade to Windows 10, this program will stop the automatic download and installation of Windows 10 and also let you know if the "Get Windows 10" app is present and let you remove those things. Hope this helps. -Original Message- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+joseph.norton=gmail@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Dennis Long via Talk Sent: Saturday, February 27, 2016 1:12 AM To: 'Kevin Barry' ; 'Window-Eyes Discussion List' Subject: RE: Update Warning What will it stop?
