Re: Thank you.
Hi Camy, When I open Microsoft Office 2010, which is the version I have, then press Control-Backslash to bring up the Window-Eyes control panel, It tells me I have the Word 2010 set file loaded. You should get something similar for the version of Microsoft Word you are using. If not, you may have the wrong set file loaded. If so, let us know and we can tell you how to load the correct one for your version of Microsoft Word. Dave At 03:22 PM 3/6/2017, you wrote: I appreciate your trying to assist me. WINDOW-EYES -- COPY AND PASTE FUNCTION
Hi Everyone: Today, I had a chance alas to play with the copy and paste function in Window-Eyes using the F8 function key. I find this feature impressive! I located the beginning of the article I wanted to copy; pressed F8. I navigated to the last sentence in the article and pressed F8 again! A window popped up giving me three choices: I chose to save as text and the entire article was copied to the clipboard. For those amongst us who use NVDA, is this feature available to you? How about to Jaws users? One last question: Using the Window-Eyes Copy & Paste feature, how can I append to the clipboard? Hi Camy, Are you certain that you have installed the correct set file package for Office 2016? RE: Introducing myself
Hello. I am a Window-Eyes user and certifier. As for your issues with documents, the issue does not happen on my computer but I could give you a couple of suggestions. If Window-Eyes doesnot read the document, try alt tabbing away from MS word, and then back to it, and try using up and down arro again. You should also check to make sure that the gw-micro add in is installed and running. Here's how you do it. 1. Press the alt key, followed by the F key. 2. press the letter T key to open up the options dialog box 3. Press the down arro key until you hear, "add ins" 4. Now, press the tab key two times until you hear your list of add ins. At this point, you want to find the Window-Eyes for office helper add in. To do this, press Alt G to open the go to dialog, and use your up and down arrow keys, and make sure that the Window-Eyes for office helper add in is checked.. I hope this helps. Re: Use a windows mobile version from an installed one
I use windows 7, but the name of my folder to place inside the Window-eyes folder on your pen drive is: c:\users\jeff-weiss\appdata\roaming\gw micro\window-eyes\users Copy the users folder--which contains the default folder and the users.ini file Once this is in the Window-eyes folder on your pen drive, your mobile copy of window-eyes should work. After launching we from the pen drive, you may have to go into the app manager and change the security setting to allow all apps to run. Then, I found it necessary to unload some apps from app manager, just so window-eyes would load a little faster from your pen drive. Re: Window-Eyes app for Reaper released.
Hi Tom, I've been working with reaper for a few weeks and can say it is fantastic. It was working perfectly till yesterday and everything went crazy. I kept losing speech when opening reaper. I had set up the steinberg interface. It worked fine until I unplugged it. Speech would freeze when I loaded reaper. That was using window-eyes, nvda and narrator. I uninstalled w.e nvda and tried each one seperatly. The same result. silence. I did hear error opening device when loading reaper. I uninstalled reaper, osara, sw plug in and tha ausio drivers. When I now load reaper, I still get that error message but no loss of speech. I can't play any tracks. When I press control and spacebar I get stop. No play or pause. Simply stop. The other problem is that when I install the reaper w.e app it isn't in my app list. It tells me it is installed but I can't find it anywhere. Any ideas you might have to help, please let me know. I checked the audio settings and they appear to be fine. I have no idea why the reaper app is not showing up in w.e. Kim, Reaper costs only 60 dollars for an individual license. But you can download and install it and it will be fully functional with nothing more than a purchase reminder that pops up on launch. It works fine on Windows 7 with Window-Eyes. It is a full blown multi-track recorder like Sonar. Here's what you need to get started. Reaper. http://www.reaper.fm/ The OSARA accessibility extension. Go to the ReadMe heading and read that section. Then go to the download and install heading and read that. You should bookmark that page or the download link because you'll need to check for updates yourself. They're pretty frequent. So check back every couple weeks. https://github.com/nvaccess/osara The SWS/S extension. It's not required but very helpful. http://www.sws-extension.org/ And here's a link to the Reapers without Peepers mailing list page where you can subscribe. Hi Tom, Like some users on the w.e list. I too have been struggling with Sonar. The Reaper app and accessibility sounds amazing. Can you send me the details for the reaper mailing list please? Which is the best version to purchose? I assume the Proffessional one. Or is it as accessible as the basic version? I am looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks, Dave. The app is really an interconnect for Window-Eyes and OSARA, a MSAA accessibility extension for Reaper. So it just makes everything talk that doesn't out of the box. The RWP mailing list I mentioned is a good place to get help. Someone recently posted an HTML version of the PDF manual to make it easier to navigate. And someone else posted a text file with a list of all the hot keys. But if you don't want to join the list just let me know and I'll upload them to Dropbox. RE: Outlook 2010 Account Settings
Thanks Rod. In fact you can set a Gmail account to be a pop3 account, in which case it will work as I want it to. My query was about the lack of screen access from Window-Eyes in the account settings area. I have a Hotmail account, which is also IMap. Therefore, while you cannot force its folder structure to appear within any folders already present on the client you use, you can cause all incoming messages to appear in a folder view, say, of unread messages. I'm using Outlook which comes with Office 365, and perhaps you can do the same within Outlook 2010. I can highlight the folder called Search, press the Applications key, and there I get a pull-down menu listing of views by which I can view my messages. One view is called Unread, and this would group all incoming unread messages into the Search folder. Wouldn't this do the trick? I believe I will be able to resolve the issue with sighted assistance, but would like the issue to be known about. I have been unable to configure my Outlook 2010 account on my Windows 7 PC to work as I would like with my Gmail account. The current way it is set up is as follows: I have two standard BT Internet e-mail accounts which both go into the same set of folders, e.ge. The same in-box, sent e-mails etc. Then there is a separate Gmail account which goes into its own set of folders, including in-box etc. I can select which e-mail account to send from by selecting them from the box if I do not want to use the default e-mail account. Outlook will also use the account an e-mail was sent to as the account when replying to an e-mail that I have received. What I would like to do is to include the Gmail account into the same set of Folders as the other two accounts. I have tried many different methods without success so far. There was one suggestion which said to use "account Settings" to do the job. Unfortunately Window-Eyes would not show the details that were present. I got sighted assistance to help at that point. Does anyone know how to do this with Window-Eyes? Re: Use a windows mobile version from an installed one
Hi Rod, Thank you very much for your information, but, please, could you tell me where is the fold called default. Thanks again friend. Forgive me, but I do not precisely know where you should place the default profiles folder on your flash drive, that is, whether you should just place the entire contents of the folder into the root folder of the flash drive, or whether it is sufficient to simply place the folder named default into the root folder. I suppose you could just experiment, but it is important that Window-Eyes does have access to the contents of the default profiles folder on your flash drive. The article does mention that you have no need to install video support, and so you have one less thing to worry about in that regard.
