Re: NVDA and Touch Screens

2017-11-16 Thread David via Talk
Memory serves me right, turning on and off browse mode in nvda, you have
to press Insert-Space.

As for touch-screen support, I am no familiar, so cannot help.

Like you have already been adviced, you might want to ask your questions
on the NVDA list. I do know, there was some discussion about touch
handling, recently. Yet, since I am not on such a device, I skipped it all.

Re: We certificates

2017-11-16 Thread Loy Green via Talk
Reading your messages about certificates and authorizations, I am confused
about which version of Window Eyes you are talking about. Sometimes it seems
you are talking about the paid version and sometimes you are talking about the
WE for Office. I don't know much about the WE for Office version.
But for the Paid version there is no limit on the number of installations. And
it is not clear what the certificate problem you mention is. I do know that
around the first of 2017 there was a problem with certificates with AISquared
products and there was an update to fix this problem in January. Could it be
you are trying to install a version that had this certificate problem? Here is
link that discusses this problem.
https://www.aisquared.com/certificatefix/
VFO no longer supports WE Paid version but they should give you a link to
download full copy of your paid version of WE and then you can install without
the problems.

I was wondering about NVDA and touch screens. I have to help my son access
ABC Mouse on a pc running Windows 10 (fall creators). It seems like
something has changed. Maybe not though. Basically my question is:

Is it possible to keep NVDA running (for me) and still allow him to just use
the regular touch screen gestures? For instance, when I have him on YouTube
and I'm running NVDA so I can choose what I want him to watch, he can't just
tap on play/pause and have it play or pause the video. I have to completely
quit NVDA. After doing a Google search, I tried the sleep mode, but that
didn't seem to work either. So are there any addons I can get to negate the
nvda touch gestures, etc.?

Hopefully you understand what I'm asking. If not, please let me know. By the
way, I'm no NVDA expert either. I know he can just touch the screen when I'm
running Window-Eyes, but my browse mode feature disappeared and that was WE
9.5.4. I'm trying NVDA 2017.3. I think that's what it's called. So is there
a way to keep NVDA running and turn off its touch support? I figure if I can
do that, then that will kind of simulate Window-Eyes' browse mode.

Thanks a lot for your help.

When I use the N command to open and write an email, I can’t read what I am

I have to write it in Word and then paste it into the out-going email.

I can read incoming emails no sweat.

I used to be able to read while writing an email, but not now.

Re: We certificates

2017-11-16 Thread Kevin Huber via Talk
Hi Larry:

I would just go ahead and reinstall WeForOffice.
In the long run, you save time because you will not have to try
something, have it not work and then try again.

You may have to redownload it from the website. I did that not too
long ago, because I wanted to make sure that the website still exists
and that I have a copy of the istallation file in case the website is
taken down by the folks at VFO.

HI, Thanks for your note. I did, in fact, purchase the acapella voices
but I think they sent the wrong authorization. I have two copies of WE,
one on an older system 9.0 on a Vista system. the other is We for
office now running on Windows 10 version 17 09. I am not sure but I
seem to remember that when you got WE for office, you had to download an
authorization so they would know you had purchased Office from MS. Am I
 wrong about that? Thanks, B
