Need Help with Window-Eyes Settings
Hell all, I badly need help with my Window-Eyes so I very much hope some kind soul can find a solution for me. I was fooling around with my Window-Eyes hot key settings under browse mode. That was because I have been unable to read browse mode edit boxes with my left or right cursor for some time. Instead of improving the situation, I have made it worse. Now I cannot use my left or right cursor on the desk top to read the various icons or the letters in edit boxes in my e-mail client or when editing file names. How can I get back the use of my left and right cursor when using Window-Eyes? At the moment I have to resort to using Jaws or NVDA. am using W-E on a Windows 8.1 machine. From the messagese, earlier on this list, and the tiny bit I have fooled with Jaws, I am afraid I have to bear you bad news. NVDA does support top and bottom indexing, but far as I am informed, Jaws does not. What else does Jaws not support? smiles. Sure, it is a great miss not to know the indexes. JAWS as a setting for "Top And Bottom Edge" in General settings. I think this will do what you want. You can move through the choices with the SPACE bar between announcing the edge, alerting with sound, or off. If you open quick settings with the JAWS key and the letter V, you can get there the quickest by tabbing to the tree of options and then pressing the letter t. I fount it on the fourth press or so. Remember that if an application has its own set of settings, changing this setting may only affect the running application.
