Hi Curtis. Embarrassed to admit that the piece that I was missing was using the context key to open the html version. When I had a plain text message, I would tab to the next pane, and hear "text/html" and arrow down, thinking that the html had automagically opened up. Geesh. I've got it now, though. Thanks! I just had wonderful help from Microsoft Disability support to update my Windows 10 OS to build 1909. According to the Help info, BECKY! 2.74.x needs an IE5 or better component to handle HTML. A private tech support person said that the IE5 was different from Internet Explorer, but, I'm not confident that this is true. While I have the IE5 box checked, I still get "If your browser isn't displaying this HTML message, you need to upgrade...". Any other BECKY! users out there with any info to share? To fellow BECKY! users
Hi. 1. Has anyone tried using BECKY! with JFW yet? If so, how did it go? 2. Besides using nicknames in BECKY!, what are the steps and keystrokes to select multiple recipients of a new composed message? I'm used to Outlook Express where I could be in the address book, arrow to a name and press alt and "the letter t" to add a name to the "To" line, alt and "the letter c" to add the selected name to the "CC:" line, or alt and the letter "b" to add the selected name to the "BCC" line. Is there a BECKY! way to do this? Since this is not specific to Window-Eyes, please respond to me off-list at mrea...@comcast.net Thanks. Windows 10; printing a document
Okay, I have made the leap from XP to 10. I get lost in the ribbon. I have opened up File Explorer, have found a *.doc in Documents, and want to print it. With the item selected, I've tried using the context/applications key and did not find a print option. The Send to pulldown did not include a printer. I tried using control + P key combination, but, did not get the print dialogue box. I tried to find the print option in the ribbon without success. Would one of you kind souls send step by step instructions. I'm stuck. Using WE 9.5.1. Re: about becky!
Hi. To sort the address book, use your mouse key to place the pointer on the column header. Click on the column header to sort. Clicking a second time on the desired column header will reverse the sort order. To include the original email as part of your reply, from the "Tools" menu, open the General Setup" option. Within that option are 12 tabs. Use your arrow keys to get to the tab called "Citation". Then use your tab key to get to the checkbox for "use edit template when replying" and use the spacebar to check it. I may not have the wording of the labels exactly right, but, should be close enough for you to recognize what I am trying to communicate. If not, write to me off-list and I'll give it another try. Windows 10: The Missing Manual
Hi, folks. I have downloaded this book from BARD and am slogging through it. There are "performance options" for "visual effects". Selecting "adjusting for best performance" turns off lots of animation. Has anyone tried this? I am always looking for ways to use less power, improve performance. However, if turning off animation negatively impacts Window-Eyes, I won't change this setting. ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. BECKY!: Sorting new entries in address book
Hi. Using Windows 10, WE 9.4, and BECKY! as my email client. I started my personal address book by importing contacts from my old Outlook Express contacts. Now, I have added some brand new contacts in BECKY! The new addresses are shown at the bottom of the list. I would like to sort the list so that all entries are in alphabetical order. I cannot find a menu option, context option, etc. to do this. Can anyone tell me how to do it? Thanks. Re: becky email
Hi. I called WE Support about this same problem earlier today. I am using a new Windows10 (not an upgrade from Windows7), WE 9.4, and I bypass the logon screen when I start up the machine. Check to see if video support for WE has been lost. Do this by opening WE control panel, going to the Help menue, and pressing enter on "About...". If you hear that the video driver is missing, close WE completely and then launch WE. Then try tabbing to the message window in BECKY! If you still don't hear the message, close BECKY! and launch it again. hth ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
