 Hello list.

Details.

Windows 8 with WE 9.1.

I reinstalled the office 2016 programs and in outlook I can now read the
list of messages but I still can't get to the list of mail folders.

All I see when I tab is 2 buttons unread and all and a search box but no
list of folders.

What do I have to do to get the list of folders to show up on the screen.

Tabbing and shift tabbing just does not get me to the list of folders.

I am using an imap account if that makes any differents.

Help.

Hi William,

Recent updates to Office 365 to the current version has modified Outlook's
behavior such that you must now use Control-tab or F6 to move to the message
list of the selected folder and you must add the Shift key to these
keystrokes to move back to the folder tree once again.
You can Also use Control-Y, as always, to find and jump to a certain folder
quickly.
Further, Control-R doesn't seem to work to reply to a message unless you
have the message window itself open, that is, it no longer works from the
message list.
I'm certain we will all continue to write to the list to help each other
keep up with these accessibility challenges.
As for verbosity, I am certain that the Window-Eyes developers will continue
to issue updates to the Outlook Enhanced app to deal with changes to the
interface.

Hello everyone

I've just recently installed Window-Eyes 9.5.1 on a windows 20 machine. As
of yet, the anniversary edition has not come through for my machine.

I've noticed when arrowing through the message list on Outlook, Window-Eyes
will say "no associated drafts" "unread" "attachment" "no attachment".

I know what the "unread" means and that status will change to "read" if
indeed the message has been read. I have also noticed that when reading
Hotmail messages, it will say "no reminder".

I've tried a few settings to try and silence those notifications but I can't
seem to figure out why it won't change. It seems there might be an icon that
needs to be focused on and at this point, that icon has no focus.

Does this make sense and if so are there any suggestions? I'm also thinking
it might work better once the windows 10 update has come in.

Speaking of scripting, there is a marvelous file renaming program called
batch rename utility. A good bit of this speaks with any screen reader.
But because there are approximately 13 category boxes on the screen, the box
names could use a bit of enhancement to clarefy the type of action being
taken. I certainly would be willing to pay a modest sum if some
enterprising script writer would tackle this.

Hi Chip: You are the number 1 source I would think of for scripting
because
of your work with a complex environment like Office.
Rod and others have some good understanding and have done some nice work
but
you have the large-scale experience of analysis of complex programs.
Yes, no matter what I did there would never be any up front money.
This is because there are some things that just cant be scripted.
The only qualifications would be that I am provided some way to get any
software necessary to be scriptd like if I were to develop a script for a
program like Visual Studio or Sonar or something that required extensive
  analysis.
But, as I have said, I don't envision myself as a scriptor and you know my
  background and it isnt scripting.
It is a possibility but not likely given my dislike of analyzing other
peoples work using the tools available to us.
There is the possibility of creating external scripts that use native UIA
and that may offer some more advanced scripting options but you and
perhaps
one or 2 others would know the complexities of third party scripting for
WindowEyes using a external script and the amount of work wouldn't be
worth
the price for anyone without deep pockets.
I do not envision me doing anything along these lines unless some company
or
government agency contacts me on behalf of some user and, even then, I
would
likely have to decline because of my lack of experience.
But, I might recommend you or others on the scripting list as possible
options and, just perhaps, work with you guys on a script if it offered
good
pay and a real benefit to some of the list members.
Anyway, this thread has been about beaten to death.
I have to see what Ross and oleusegun are interested in, I sort of know
what
oleusegun has in mind - a point of sales program hestruggles with for
  his small business.
The problem is getting a copy of the program to work with and the fact
that
I am not setup for scripting and would have to ReEvaluate the existing
tools
including my old Visual Studio scripting project that combined native UIA,
managed version, with the WindowEyes Object Model - not easy and, as you
noted, I would make nothing and not accept anything unless the job got
done
  and done right.
So the entire analysis and setting up of a scripting platform would fall
on
my own shoulders which is the way I would want it in any situation - hay,
I
am, or would be, applying for the job and my creed as you well know is its
your fault, my fault nobodys fault, just get the job done and done right
or
  don't charge the client.
That has been my creed for many, many years as anyone who knows me knows
  that phrase well.
I just don't see me spending the time to develop scripts for larger
platforms like a point of sales program which may, or not, have the hooks
necessary to create a script in the first place.
But I know a really experienced scriptor like you have other tools to work
around some of the problems where the program in question doesn't offer
standard accessibility hooks for screen readers and that is exactly why I
would recommend you - I think you have the best chance of getting the job
done right and that is the endpoint of anything I do or recommend flat
out.
I am not blowing smoke as you know but that is me and at my age I don't
have
to change just to make a buck.

I forgot to mention, you can always send them manually by going to
help/error reporting.

You need to do it when the error dialog comes up.
Tab to the show at start check box and uncheck it.

Hey, I don't think there's a way you can tisable error reporting. I think
that it's there for good in case Window-Eyes crashes.

Hi all,

wasn't a way to turn off the Window-Eyes error reporting permanently?? Can't
find anything in the help file or in the settings.

Cheers,
  Ralf

Hi, Chris. Will most of the programs installed still be there after
the upgrade?

Also, noticed under Windows 7 that Windows Enter does not bring up
Narrator. Is there another hotkey for this? Thanks.--Matthew Chao

There will be a time during the install where you'll need to use Narrator.

After the system reboots just wait, say 20 minutes or longer.
If you don't get speech, press windows-enter to load narrator.
Use narrator to continue the setup process.

When you are at the desktop Window-eyes may load or it may
not. Yesterday on my tablet it didn't load. I had to load it manually.
Fortunately I had narrator still giving me assistance.
Once Window-eyes was running, I pressed windows-enter to turn off narrator.

Heard windows 10 is a free download for a year, so after the
download do you just run it like anyother download and as long as
we9.2 is installed you will hear what is going on? When I do it I
will be updating from windows 8.1.
