Subject: Re: how to create a bat file to launch window eyes.

Try this.

1. go to your desktop.

2. locate the win-eyes shortcut.

3. press alt-enter to bring up the short cut propperties.
4. press shift-tab, to go to the shortcut page, arrow left to the general
page.

5. Tab once.

6. press control-home.

7. Insert the att symbol at the begining of the filename.
8. tab to the ok button, and press it.

Now you can press windows M, go to desktop. Then press the AT symbol, and
enter,

window eyes will start.

option 2.

1. go to the window-eyes start menu group.

2. open the submenu, and locate window-eyes.

3. right click, or press the applications key.

4. press the letter K, or arrow down to "pin to task-bar." press enter.

Now pressing the windows key and a number, will fire off window-eyes.

For example on this box, windows-key and the number 6 starts window-eyes.
Windows key and number 1 starts the email client. Windows key and 2 starts
winamp.

If you have nine items already pinned to the task-bar, this may not work
unless
you remove one or more of the existing 9. There maybe a work-around for
this,

but I've never needed it.

this is I launch nvda through the windows run dialog so that I have speech,
then I do shut down window eyes, then whenever I am done with NVDA, I have
to go to the windows run dialog to launch and type in wineyes. Any help

Rod,
The one with the lag is a Win 8.1 machine versus my Win 7 work laptop, and I
wondered that too initially. Seems odd to me that it would also be showing
that slight lag even in the Window Eyes Control Panel on both machines, but
that might show my ignorance at the impact an OS can have.

Hi Robin,

I'm wondering if you're running the same OS on both, or perhaps Windows 8 or
8.1 on one.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Windows 8 has the lag, and there are screen
transitions which may slow things down and so they should be disabled.
I have only Windows 7 and so I don't know how to guide you, but these
certainly could have an effect, as I recall.

All, When a got my new home laptop a while ago, I noticed that it felt like
there was the slightest lag of WE voicing things. I'm sitting here today
working from home and have my work laptop next to my home laptop and just
tried a test. I opened the WE control panel on both and arrowed down
through the tree view. I can hit the down arrow at the exact same time and
there is a slight delay on my home PC. It's really only a slight delay, but
I know others on here appreciate how that can feel like a lot as your are
arrowing and typing and wanting the information from WE more quickly.

I'm using the same voice and rate on Dectalk Access for WE synthesizer
option on both and I don't think I'm sophisticated enough to have changed
some other setting that would have created this delay. Any suggestions from

others who've experienced this? Could it be sound card related?

Running WE 9.1 on a Windows 8.1 64 bit system using IE 11.
On what seems to be random cases after loading a web page two different
things happen.
First after the page loads you are placed at the bottom of the page.
This causes immediate confusion as if you hit the down arrow key to
start reading the page nothing happens. Gives you the false sense that
speech has been lost.
A second situation happens other times when after loading a web page if
you try to use the control shift function find command it will indicate
that the search found nothing when in fact it is there. In these cases
if you either do a tab or arrow down a couple of lines and try the
search again it finds what you are searching for just fine.

I am having the exact opposite experience. WE9.1 with latest tbird and
ff is faster and more accurate then earlier versions. I have almost no
crashes that cannot be fixed by simply tabing in and out of a program
which was not the case in earlier versions.

My system is win7 32 bit home so its simplicity may be why it is more
stable then yours.

Hello,

I am using the latest edition of Firefox, Win XP and Window Eyes 8.4.

Both Ebay.com and Youtube.com will allow me to scroll down the Web
Page for a few lines, and then it seems like the page refreshes
itself, Starting me over at the very Top of the Web Page.

I can Page Down, and it will attempt to Refresh, but if I keep
hammering the Page Down key, I get lots of verbale garbage, but can
eventually get close to the line I wish, but more often than not,
after pressing the Down Arrow key two three times, the Screen
refreshes and once again I am back at the top of the Web page.

I can use NVDA, and I wil, but I would rather use Window eyes.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks,

Dave

2015-05-15 Thread michael's mail boxl via Talk

Hi vaughan I have simular problems.
I find We 9.1 a nightmare on my win 7 desktop machine.
I find We stops talking every time I use computer the short cut alt control
w some times brings We back not always.

And every time I reply to an email with WLM We stops talking.
It will not focus on the email it says browse mode is not available.
I have to shut WE down and restart.
And speeking of that problem it just happend while typing this email so I
gave up and now am running NBVDA to finish this email.

It has got to the point where We is nearly un useable on this system.
But on my windows 8.1 laptop WE runs very well I very rearly get a crash.
Cheers Michael
We off and restart and after a while We does read enough for me to reply to
mail.

I find I get IE 11 nearly every time say its not responding and WE crash

I have two contrasting experiences with version 9.1.

On my 8.1. 64 bit machines, 9.1 has proven to be the most stable of
Window-Eyes releases. I do experience some problems with the rewrite of
browser support, where lines are repeated and some inconsistencies exist
with links loading, but Window-Eyes has not crashed on these machines.

On my workstation at work, which is Windows 7 32 bit professional,
Window-eyes is not a happy customer. Much of this is dues to the various
security applications we are layered with - they don't allow Window-eyes to
install properly, and they have not updated Internet Explorer. Corporate
firewalls prevent app updating and the sending of crash reports. Excel is a
very sour lemon. There is no AI Squared support for us in New Zealand, so
we pay for a product which includes services we don't get. I have always
known this, and the choice to purchase is voluntary.

On balance - given the progress that Window-eyes 9.1 made over version 8.4,
I am hopeful that the next release will be a leaps and bounds progression.
It needs to be, as for me at least, it is not a producgt which is robust
enough to deal with commercial/corporate installations over which the end
user has no control. For me as the home user, I prefer Window-Eyes over
NVDA, as the domestic experience is generally positive.

Vaughan.

This WE-9.1 is the crashiest WE version ever. I don't even have to be on the
web for it to completely go silent. Doing the hot key almost never brings it
back up, so I have to reboot the computer from the button on the tower.
Please fix this folks.

Hello,

I am not Happy with my New 9.1. I have given it time and me time to learn
to use it properly, but going on the Web is almost a for sure Circus where I
am forced to slowly use the Up and Down Arrows. And even then, it doesn't
take much at all for the program to lose its way. Often going completely
quiet.

I am not sure what New way the Folks at Window eyes has come up with to
Browse the web, but this New way needs an Update.

I have had one of the Tech Support Staff check out my system and he said
everything looked Good. But, if I go and use the Web, I almost always have
the system lock up, or go quiet. Sometimes it is hard to tell which has
actually happened. Forcing a reload of Window Eyes usually does not work.
I can press ALT, CTRL and W, and Nothing happens.

So, is there a 9.2 update coming any time soon? I use the web almost every
day, and I keep needing to use my old XP system with 8.4.

Dave
