Oh yes, that's what you do for individual messages. Then, if you don't do shift delete, it goes into your deleted items folder, and you have to empty that. You put your cursor on the folder, hit the applications key and arrow up to "empty deleted items folder", and tell it yes. Enter on it. That's the only mailbox that has that capability like that. I don't have Thunderbird, just Microsoft. Is it the same? After deleting any messages I just hit the status line hot key. It tells me how many were moved from the current folder to trash followed by unread count and total count.
