I removed W.E. and reinstalled it a long with ThunderBird. And this

Re: windows 10, W.E. 9.4 and ThunderBird

2016-03-31 Thread Larry Higgins via Talk
Jim, I only seem to have this issue after deleting a message, or group
of messages, but haven't noticed this behavior when simply reading messages.

I have come to the conclusion that it isn't a
WE issue, but a Thunderbird issue, that is if it isn't actually a
interactive issue between Thunderbird and the IMAP server. However, if
someone might give us both some insight into the source of the problem,
and how to permanently solve it, I'm sure it will be very much
appreciated by the both of us .

I have been putting up with the delaying of activity for about a year
now, and just haven't said anything about it, because I know that
Thunderbird will be back to normal within usually no more than a minute.
And it doesn't interfere with anything else I might wish to do on the
computer, so I just find something else to do in the meantime.

Sure hope we can get a little closer to the bottom of this thing though.

Larry

Re: windows 10, W.E. 9.4 and ThunderBird

2016-03-31 Thread Tom Kingston via Talk
For what it's worth, I've been using Thunderbird for years and never had
any problems until their latest big release wherein they tried to make
it more like Outlook by adding a calender and such. As soon as I
installed it I had this problem for the first time. I don't remember if
I did anything else, but the one big thing I did was uninstall the
calender add-on. And I haven't seen this problem since.

Hth,
Tom

2016-04-01 Thread Larry Higgins via Talk

Tom,

I don't want to look like an idiot, but I can find no option within the
add ons menu that allows me to uninstall the calender. I really would
like to give your solution a try. So, what are the necessary steps to
accomplish this task please.

Thanks,

Larry

This also happens to me. I usually hit win+d to go to the desk top and
then return to tbird and this solves the problem.

Other times you need to hit the alt/cntl/w reset to bring it back.

Tbird has 2 other major issues for me. The repeay of the first line
and repeating a message in the in box after I have moved it toa folder.

I solved the first problem by opening messages in a new window instead
of a tab.
