try adjusting winamp while it is playing inside the volume mixer. That
gets turned down individually sometimes in spite of the arrow condition
within winamp.

essentially the same instructions . I'm just glad you are once

The following info from another list fixed the issue:

Start Winamp playing.
Open part of the Windows volume settings by opening the run dialog.
Hold the Windows key and type r.
Then type sndvol and press enter.
When the dialog opens, tab around and you should find a volume setting
for Winamp. Raise it to the maximum with the up arrow. Press it
repeatedly or hold it down. You will hear the volume rise. When it
stops rising, it should be at the maximum.
Close the dialog with alt f4.

Hi russ

Press control+p for preferences, find output plug ins in the treeview,
and tab to the one you're using - Wave or Direct Sound. Tab once more
and press spacebar on "configure". Tab through there, exploring the
various tabs, and you should find reference to "volume control". Make
sure this is checked. In the Wave output plug in, there is an
alternative volume control, if you don't want Winamp's volume to change
as, for example your screen reader's speech volume changes.
I still love Winamp because of the plug ins and their configurability.

RE: Wimamp problem

2016-07-12 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Russ,

Actually, Numpad-8 raises and Numpad-2 lowers Winamp volume, with Numlock on,
of course.

Hth,

Rod

Subject: Wimamp problem

I installed winamp on this new windows 10 computer. Here’s the problem I’m
having. When I play a audio file with winanp, it’s audio levelplays at a much
lower volume than windows media player, itunes and groove music. I used the up
arrow in winamp to increase the volume to it’s maximum level.

2016-07-12 Thread Larry Higgins via Talk

Russ,

You should go to the volume mixer, and there you will find volume
controls for all devices you have open, all the way down to your email
client. If Winamp is open, you will find it there too. When You do, you
will probably notice that it isn't set all the way to 100%. Just get it
up there, and then you should have complete control of your volume in
Winamp proper. These ar in effect, master settings, that is those in the
mixer.

Never give up on Winamp, until it gives up on you. It is still a great
player.

2016-07-12 Thread Reg Webb via Talk
