RE: Window-Eyes 9.2 still crashing With Windows Explorer

2015-08-14 Thread Mike Wilkens via Talk
Thanks to Chris at WinEyes my WE 9.2 and IE11 no longer crash while using the
browser.  Same thing for problems with Firefox.
Chris had me:
1. remove outdated apps such as one forcibly closing WE and a Homer (or
something like this) which that app closing WE required.
2. Updating all set files via the WE control panelGreat advice!

RE: Window-Eyes 9.2 still crashing With Windows Explorer

2015-08-02 Thread Chris Grabowski via Talk
Hi,
Edge is not accessible. You can either use Internet Explorer, Firefox or
Chrome to get an accessible web browser on Windows 10.

I just tried directory Opus and unless I'm missing a configuration setting,
nothing reads. Menus or the file lists.

I do know Xplorer2 works quite well with Window-eyes under Windows 7/8/10.

Hi to all,
I have a dual boot between a new install of windows 10 and and a
relatively new windows 7, and in both machine explorer and WE9.2 stop
functioning very frequently.
The new windows 10 browser also causes WE9.2 to crash.
Just tabbing around several explorer windows causes

WE9.2 to stop speaking. Several presses of control alt w will bring
WE9.2 up and running again.
Someone on this list had recommended directory opus as a possible fix,
and I installed it yesterday on my Windows 10, but I have not used it
yet. I will report back when I have used it for a few days.
Good luck,
Manny

RE: Window-Eyes 9.2 still crashing With Windows Explorer

2015-07-30 Thread Kevin Minor via Talk
Hi Chip.

I am using Windows 10, and I tried to follow your instructions to see if my
preview pane was checked. I can't find any organize option when tabbing in
Windows Explorer. Any ideas to try?

2015-07-30 Thread Chip Orange via Talk
Hi Lynn,

I thought I had send those instructions to the list, but I can't find a
copy, so here they are:

* Open a Windows explorer window.
* tab to the organize button.
* press spacebar, which should bring up a context menu.
* arrow down to the layout submenu and open it up with the right arrow.
* arrow down until you find the preview pane and make sure it is not
checked; if it is checked, press enter on it to remove the checkmark;
otherwise press escape.

Hth,

Chip

Good question. Where is the preview pane? Thanks.

Chip, where do I find where to disable preview mode? Like several
others I find my crashes have no pattern to be specific about
anything. It seems to do it the worst with IE , but it can also do it
right in the middle of reading an email. I'll keep watching the list
and also will post anything I discover about it all.

 pane to solve it.

ok, so it's not just me! Thank you! I don't suppose that actually
helps, but yes, this is definitely happening to me too. I'm running
Windows 7 64-bit, if that helps. The frustrating part is it seems to
happen for no rhyme or reason. I can't find a pattern for it so I can
reliably tell people when the problem happens. It seems very random,
which makes the problem that much harder to fix. If I do find a pattern
for when it happens i'll gladly post a more definiative bug report with
examples of when it happens, etc.
