Re: email program recommendation
Kim, there's an email program that comes with windows 7, it's called winmail. I've been using it for a number of years, it works so well you'd think you were using outlook express. Note this will take a little configuration on your part. It's very important that you follow the configuration instructions very carefully. This is a link to download the configuration package. WMInW7RepairFiles.zip (1.7 MB). The download link is: https://www.sendspace.com/file/qx4fcr It's easy, but if you need help you can contact me at greenwoo...@cox.net Wayne - Original Message - From: "Kim Lingo via Talk" To: "Window-Eyes Discussion List" Sent: Saturday, July 23, 2016 9:31 PM Subject: email program recommendation Hi everyone, I'm currently using Window-Eyes version 8.4. I have been messing around with the bat from ritlabs for a couple of days. It is interesting, has lots of features and seems to read ok. One place where it falls down is when writing a new email, the to: cc: and subject fields don't read when tabbing through. RE: email program recommendation
Hi Kim, I can only recommend what I use and have found to be the best for the reasons I always offer when asked this question. The current version of Outlook, which comes with an active subscription to Office 365, will always have the best opportunity to be accessible to all screen readers because screen reader developers continually work to make it accessible, as they do for all MS Office products. The most economical subscription plan for Office 365 is Office 365 Personal, which allows you to install the Office suite on one computer only. Here in Canada, I was paying about #6.99 per month for this, although, as of last November, thanks to a black Friday promotion offered by Microsoft, I was able to buy an annual subscription to Office 365 Personal for about $60.00, which comes out to $5.00 per month. This price is pretty hard to beat, and, as I say, it gives you access to the current version of the Office suite of applications. Now, should you need to install Office on more than one PC, then, adding about $3.00 per month to the cost of a monthly subscription will allow you to install Office on up to 5 PCs. Again, you can probably find a deal for an annual subscription as well, since black Friday isn't too far away. email program recommendation
Hi everyone, I'm currently using Window-Eyes version 8.4. I'm starting to have real difficulty with Windows XP and Internet Explorer, so I decided to finally get a newer computer which comes with Windows 7. I realize that Windows x is now out there, but this is the route I'm going to take for now, because it's a good deal. I'm currently using Outlook Express. I understand that this no longer works with Windows 7. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good email program that works well with Window-Eyes and also Windows 7?
