web application mode

2015-08-10 Thread Dave Bahr via Talk
Hi. Can someone please provide more info on how to better use the web
application mode in firefox? I am a bit confused. Do you need to turn browse
mode off before entering web application mode? It seems like I have to press
the web app mode hotkey and then turn browse mode off? I had thought that
you could just turn it on, enter whatever keys you needed to pass to the
browser, and then turn it off? It seems like that's not quite working out.
I'm guessing there are bugs in it, that makes sense seeing as it's a new
feature. I just am wondering how to work it the best. Thoughts?

Thanks, Dave

RE: web application mode

2015-08-10 Thread Chip Orange via Talk
Hi Dave,

I don't know if there are bugs in it or not; I did check the documentation,
and you are not supposed to have to change browse mode at all; just turning
on web application mode is supposed to then stop window-eyes from responding
to anything other than the four basic arrow keys; everything else is
supposed to be passed to the web application for it to process (presumably
also except for the web application mode toggle hotkey as well).

Have you tried IE to see if the issues are related to FireFox?

Chip

What advantage does this approach have as opposed to the Facebook
Windows 8X app which also is extremely accessible? Just curious as I
haven't noticed any but that doesn't mean there isn't one.
