In my opinion not far off at all.
I’ve tried out their app and immediately noticed some issues:
- The (Mapbox) map they’re using in the (iOS app) didn’t attribute
OpenStreetMap ([1], since fixed)
- Processing a short sequence of 100 images [2] took nearly two weeks and
several question/messages on their Discord server
- Two emails sent to their main email were never answered; I’ve notified them
that in their "Open data with Mapilio” linking to
https://mapilio.com/openstreetmap they speak of OpenstreetMap (without capital
S).
- Their blog post about how to contribute is pure marketing speak and no
essence.
- They have a big GDPR page at https://mapilio.com/gdpr, but don’t seem to see
the ‘export' part of the data very seriously [3]

Habi

Especially since these `shop=yes` are not rendered on OpenStreetMap Carto
anymore, this made me generate https://maproulette.org/browse/challenges/9400 a
while ago.
Half of the so-tagged shops in Switzerland have been fixed since then.
So there *is* potential to spot those.

I’m my (Swiss German) opinion "Schotter" is much bigger than gravel, which is
translated to "Kies".
Gravel might be passable by bike, Schotter is the foundation under railways
tracks.
I wouldn’t want to ride my bike over Schotter!

Re: [OSM-talk] "Stadium" map roulette challenge causing issues

Ciao Andy

someone apparently using this Map Roulette challenge:

Looking at 'taginfo', the values `wikidata=Stadium` and
`wikidata=stadium` are present for a total of 6 values worldwide:

This seems something still possible to figure out on a case-by-case

This is exactly what is specified in Lukas’ repository (see
https://gitlab.com/ltog/ohni#what-is-this-software-about): "most corner cases
are rejected”.

I think the tool caters to a mapper which is rather proficient with the tools,
as one has to download a .pbf extract and massage the data with Lukas’ tool.
This is not something for armchair mappers which blindly click on a green
checkmark in Osmose.

Bravo Lukas, e cooli Sach!

I am using https://wordpress.org/plugins/osm/ on my WordPress blog.
By default it loads the carto tiles, a bit like leaflet.
So it might be a simple ‘wait until it’s rendered’ problem.

Azzouni Fakhreddine, can you link us to a location of the places that you’ve
added some days ago and don’t show up for you?
