If you follow the Edit tab on
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_Brazil/DF you will get a link
right at the bottom of the page called Templates used on this page. If you
expand the list you will see a link to Template:Pt-br:place, which is where
the links are. You can edit this template to get rid of the dead links.

One disadvantage of having specialised templates is that updates to the
Template:Place template are often not propagated and, although I recently
removed OpenStreetBugs from Template:Pt-br:place other links that are no
longer useful remain. There is a proposal at
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User_talk:Moresby/Description to replace
multiple language versions of the KeyDescription and ValueDescription
templates, which have similar problems, with a single set of templates for
all languages; it may be worthwhile doing something similar with the Place
template.

2014-03-28 Thread Fernando Trebien
Hi Erick,

All wiki templates have URLs in this format:

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Template:[template name]

So all you need is to figure out the template name. I know you've been
mapping in Brasília, so I guess the city page you want to edit is this
one: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Bras%C3%ADlia

If you go into raw view or edit mode, you'll notice right at the beginning:

{{pt-br:place|name=Brasília|type=city|area=Distrito Federal|image=|
lat = -15.780 | long = -47.930 | zoom = 12}}

pt-br:place is the template name you're after. The rest is a bunch of
template parameters.

The pt-br prefix means the template is only used by articles from
the Brazilian community, so you may wish to contact the local
community to see if these changes are ok.

Re: [OSM-talk] City templates - Links OFF

2014-03-28 Thread Rob Nickerson
Hi Erick,

I'm not sure what you mean - can you please tell me what you are referring
to.

If you mean the template for places on the OpenStreetMap wik, such as as
shown on the right hand side of the London page (
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/London ) then you can edit the template
at
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Template:Place

I've looked for the links you mention in this template and can only find
the tile.openstreetmap.nl one.

Please give e a bit more information and I can update the template for you.

Regards,
Rob
