Re: [OSM-talk] MasterCity: Play with OpenStreetMap
Ahhh, place=city nodes. There was a time where we deleted the only place=city node and converted it into an border area with place=city (as per the one element per feature rule). We put the node back when we discovered some software can't handle the area definition. And now I discovered that the place=city node didn't have a name attached. Fixed now. The funny thing is that there is only one city in Iceland which wouldn't make for a challenging game if one picked Iceland as the nation. The same might go for other small countries. You should consider, when there is a low number of cities in any country, to extract the towns as well and use them if one picks said country as a nation. The locals would find that more useful. I like the concept of the game and I hope I can promote it in Iceland when this issue has been fixed. :) - Svavar Kjarrval On 24/02/13 08:02, Mario Danelli wrote: > Dear Svavar, > >> When do you plan to add more nations to the game? > > At the moment all the world is covered. Dear Svavar, When do you plan to add more nations to the game? At the moment all the world is covered. Not only the nations that you can choose are available. The data of some nations (say Switzerland) are into the cities db if you choose the entire europe continent but are not available alone as thery are fews cities (6). Regarding Iceland requsting entire world data with "place=city" query to overpass-api I hadn't any iceland city (not even Reykjavík). If you think you can extract Iceland cities data, in another way, from OSM and send me I'll include them in a next release. Re: [OSM-talk] MasterCity: Play with OpenStreetMap
Hi Mario. I'm going to try it out, but during installation there are some remarks. Google Play shows ODBL as the privacy policy - which is wrong, I think. The German description sounds like it's not written by a native German speaker, it's bad German ;) I don't see the license of your software, yet. If it's free, I'm sure there will be people to offer translations. If it's closed, well - then you should make the localization better or remove it - or you should expect bad ratings, I guess. Now I'll try the game itself... regards Peter Am 23.02.2013 13:51, schrieb Mario Danelli: Hi, thanks to OpenStreetMap and his team I have just released a new application, currently only for Android but if it hasa bit of success I have already set the output on the iPhone and iPad, called "Master City".
