Re: [OSM-talk] Update of world_boundaries-spherical?
I guess the version of Natural Earth used by the rendering server is out of date, because the latest version does contain South Sudan. Thanks for the insight and information. Any I idea how to change, where to log, or whom to contact about this? Michael ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

[OSM-talk] Update of world_boundaries-spherical?
Hello, I just noticed the border between Sudan and South Sudan not being rendered in Mapnik at zoom levels 1 to 3. At zoom level 3 the name South Sudan shows up but the border is missing ([1]). After doing quite some searching I guess the problem might be a missing update of world_boundaries-spherical.tgz. The file available online [2] as documented in the wiki seems to be from 2008. So I assume that other than the coastline file this file is not automatically updated. Honestly that would be perfectly reasonable as changes to borders visible at zoom level 3 and above rarely occur. But as we had one of these rare occasions with South Sudan it seems to be about time to update the file. Unfortunately I couldn't find out how this update could be triggered.
