I don't have time to check this right now" "I know, I'll just ask the mailing list gnomes. I'll probably get 1-2 replies because someone must know this editor" Or so I thought yesterday. Ropino actually sent me a mail via osm.org yesterday at around 14:00 explaining the edits he was doing and promising to add more informative summaries. I'm really sorry about bothering this well-meaning fellow editor by suddenly getting a tsunami of t...@-related messages because I didn't have 10 minutes at the time to check some of his edits myself. I've sent him a message to that effect. Perhaps we could use something like user talk pages on Wikipedia so >1 user doesn't personally contact someone regarding the same issue. Hi, Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason wrote: > The user Ropino is making some sort of cleanup edits to large parts of > the planet: As he is from Germany, I had a word with him and he says that (1) he's not using a bot, just loading stuff from tagwatch into JOSM, and (2) he's definitely well-meaning and will put better changeset descriptions in the future. He also did not intend do delete tags and will be extra careful in the future. Bye Frederik ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

We are running a couple of days behind at present in general which is not ideal and now we have a technical hitch which is going to take a couple of days to fix - sorry about that. Fyi, we have already done about half the technical work to speed up the import considerably and just need the time to finish it off but we have to juggle OSM work and commercial work. Do also remember that we don't report on nodes yet, only ways so OSM Mapper won't yet spot isolated nodes being moved. Again we have work in progress to add nodes into the picture. Hi Avar, > (you really have to squint to see tag/node changes on the current history > page). You might use the history viewer in JOSM instead. It compares two arbitrary versions of a primitive and highlights the differences with different colors. -- Karl -Ursprüngliche Nachricht- Von: talk-boun...@openstreetmap.org [mailto:talk-boun...@openstreetmap.org] Im Auftrag von Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason Gesendet: Dienstag, 15. The user Ropino is making some sort of cleanup edits to large parts of the planet: http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/Ropino/edits What follows is a mail I sent to him on the site. But it would be useful to get more eyeballs on these edits. Hello there. Firstly when you're making mass-edits that span most of the planet and get announced to hundreds of people can you please specify in more detail what you're fixing/changing than saying "corrections". I've looked at some of the edits you're making and some of them seem to be removing tags, e.g.: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/25310980/history It's obvious to anyone looking at that data that one=yes was supposed to mean oneway=yes. So that edit shouldn't have been made, any human looking at that data would know to change the tag instead of removing it (perhaps you're using JOSM's validator?) Perhaps these edits are OK. But I don't have time to check them. ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
