Re: [OSM-talk-be] New mappers
I also got the impression that some tools might be part of a paid service. As for the rss feed (from http://simon04.dev.openstreetmap.org/whodidit/ ). I don't expect that you will see a lot of changeset if you limit the bounding box to e.g. Mol. Until recently I only got 10-20 changesets every 2 days or so. The last few days the number is higher. Some article somewhere ? on reddit perhaps ? anyhow the number is still to low for an area with big cities as Antwerp and Mechelen. Is it a lot of work ? Not really, if you ignore the changeset from regular contributors, you might end up of 1 or 2 changesets that need further inspection. Again, this number is a bit higher the last few days. Opening the changeset shows the map where the change was done. If it show a large area, it is suspicious. But in most cases it's only a few nodes or ways. Nodes with names "highspeed camera" are obviously something you can react upon. My impression is that most changes are - adding some paths - adding some POIs (shops, companies) - some playgrounds, parkings Don't look at the mapper name, because you cannot conclude anything from that. I recently saw a mapper name that I would never choose, but the edits were OK and the user is even on the mailing now. hope this helps regards m On Wed, Sep 25, 2013 at 8:23 PM, Gilbert Hersschens wrote: > Control tool looks interesting, but they don't say anything about free or > paid service... > > Gilbert > > ___ > Talk-be mailing list > Talk-be@openstreetmap.org > https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-be > > ___ Talk-be mailing list Talk-be@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-be

[OSM-talk-be] New mappers
I noticed quite a few new mappers the past few days. They make beginner's mistakes we all made. So try to keep an eye on your area. I've contacted some of them in the Antwerp area and gave suggestions to fix the problems or improve their tagging. zors fixed an incorrect name on a large landuse area above Antwerp. There is still a dummy area in Hove, but I hope the mapper will remove it himself. regards m ___ Talk-be mailing list Talk-be@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-be
