Gembloux will join the National Mapathon for the first time! This will be
on Wednesday. We could really use a volunteer there, as it is their first
time at that location. Send me a message if you're interested.

[OSM-talk-be] National Mapathon 2019

Hi,

We're supporting the National Mapathon again!
This year, the events will be spread over three days, with most of them
during the week in the evening. There is no registration page for "normal
people" yet, but I've just put up some pages on Meetup to help find OSMbe
volunteers to help out at all the locations. For data quality, that is
essential. And it can be a lot of fun too!

[OSM-talk-be] national mapathon 2018

Hi,

The third National Mapathon is coming up!
Eight universities across the countries will open their doors for some
humanitarian mapping. Last year, about 300 people showed up.

Of course, we want quality mapping, and we're counting on you to help them
do that. So we need volunteers at all the locations to walk around and keep
an eye on the quality. We'll need validators to watch as much data as
possible as soon as possible. And we need some people to be on the lookout
for possible future heavy mappers and organizers. Some of our current core
members were recruited at the previous events :)

We've just sent out the thank-you mail to the participants of the National
Mapathon.

Thank you to all the volunteers who made it possible. Extra thanks to the

[OSM-talk-be] national mapathon

Hi,

As you know, we will be helping out the organization of the 2nd National
Mapathon, Saturday March 25th, in Mons, Namur, Liege, Louvain-la-Neuve,
Bruxelles, Brussel, Gent and Leuven.

While we have a volunteer at most places, we could still use your help. The
more experienced mappers can walk around and look what people are doing,
the better. Several of our current core members got involved or more active
through this mapathon. So see this as a chance to grow the mapping
community, not just a chance to help Missing Maps and MSF.

Also please spread the word through your networks and have them subscribe
through nationalmapathon.eventbrite.com . With two weeks left, we only have
50 subscriptions!

Even if you can't make it to one of the venues, remote help, especially for
validation would be extremely welcome.

Hi,

The next National Mapathon is taking shape. We're still looking for
volunteers, though we have the situation under control. Especially for the
Walloon cities some extra help would be nice. Fortunately our Brussels
French Belgians and Belgians in France saved us from not having OSM Belgium
people at all the events.
Just send me or Jorieke a message if you can help out.

* Help us write and translate an invitation to the mapathon, to send out to
our 450 contacts on the OSM Newsletter [1]

* Help us on how we can leverage this event to further grow the OSM Belgium
community [2] (thanks to Marc Bessieres for suggisting this)

* Help us make a good page about OSM Belgium Mapathon support (writing and
translating job) [3]

We're always looking for other help too, for example we could really use
someone who wants to build press contacts and the like. Fortunately we will
have the MSF machine behind us for this one.
