Buongiorno lista,

disambigua":

https://it.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandhi_(disambigua)

Avete già provato a richiederlo? Con che esito?

Francesco

Re: [OSM-talk] Examples of good paid mapping?

2020-09-13 Per discussione Oleksiy Muzalyev

Good morning,

I agree that the existing tags are to be used. And they should be used
correctly, as it's described in the wiki. It is applicable not only to
professional but also to hobby mapping.

I think that it makes sense to survey objects before mapping by
physically visiting them. During a survey one can record the GPS traces
around the object of interest. It could be done with a dedicated GPS unit.

A modern GPS unit is capable to record traces for 24+ hours without
interruption. So even the approaching roads (or railroads) could be
traced. Having these traces in a map editor will let us see that the
satellite images are aligned correctly, or to see if the satellite
imagery outdated and what is not on it yet.

It is also possible to make some ground and aerial (oblique & vertical)
HD  photos of the object from different angles during survey. And not
only of the building itself, but also of other POIs around such as say
bus or tram stops.

Having the photos from the survey would allow to add later the building
levels, opening hours, bus stops names, etc. It is possible to upload
the best selected photos to the Wikimedia or Flickr (after blurring
vehicle registration plates and faces on them for privacy) and publish
the corresponding links on the OSM map, so that other mappers can use
these images too. Before uploading photos, the GPS coordinates can be
added to them automatically from the recorded GPS trace.

Another big survey topic is the elevation [1]. Human settlements are
usually located near water. It could be of interest to know if an object
is above or below the water level of a nearby sea, lake, or river, since
the risk of flood could be evaluated. However, measuring an elevation
with an altimeter [2] is not as simple as it sounds, but it is doable.

My point is that the good mapping, both amateur and professional, could
involve not only mapping via the satellite imagery, but also the
on-the-ground surveys using such modern tools as the dedicated GPS
units, ultra-light quad-copters, portable HD photo-cameras, altimeters,
etc. Sometimes it is not possible to understand from the vertical
satellite image, seeing only the rectangle of the roof and the shadow,
what the object is exactly, how many levels it has, what additional
features or services it contains. Besides, the satellite imagery in some
areas could be outdated or misaligned, and a survey also helps to
understand to what degree, so that we use it properly.

Have a good day!

Oleksiy

[Talk-it-trentino] help

rappresentazione?E' possibile rimediare all'errore che potrebbe creare
problemi visto l'ambiente "aspro"?
Grazie!

abbinato a operator=Protezione Civile

Voici l'article :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_Kj3XIw71l08Gb5y-JJS0hWYkvc5EnFr/view?usp=sharing

Bonne semaine,

Baronies in Monaghan, Farney is missing from the list. Barony Farney can
be found on the website, but not on this page". I think "the website"
here probably means
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Baronies_of_County_Monaghan .

I've already suggested that the DWG's correspondant contact the OSM IE
community directly via https://www.openstreetmap.ie/contact/ , but I
haven't seen anything on IRC or here, hence I'm posting this.  They may
of course already be in contact via Facebook or similar (in which case
my apologies for the noise).

Best Regards,

Andy

[OSM-talk-ie] Tagging of LEAs that changed in 2019

2020-09-13 Per discussione Colm Moore
Hi,

The islands at Skerries are small and uninhabited. Ireland's Eye is much
bigger. Lambay island is bigger again and inhabited. The commission reports are
recommendations, with the text being the actual recommendations, not the maps.
Constituencies are actually determined by the associated legislation, which is
text based.

Colm

The map of Holmpatrick LE district is different on
https://eur04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.townlands.ie%2Fholmpatrick%2Fdata=02%7C01%7C%7C65cea35b0735439a398308d857d4b95c%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435%7C1%7C0%7C637355918430524513sdata=yMdrZbkFzmDUmdhtWhOwoclV3cHkxKEboJEB1hAB9HY%3Dreserved=0
 than the map on
https://eur04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.boundarycommittee.ie%2FMaps%2FFingal%2520LEA%2520Report%2520Map%25202018.pdfdata=02%7C01%7C%7C65cea35b0735439a398308d857d4b95c%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435%7C1%7C0%7C637355918430524513sdata=eRYS5iEZeTMEaHkBawlbXVTjWBNwmHt%2FLswyyHsG5jU%3Dreserved=0

The skerries arent included on the boundary commission map, but are on
townlands/osm

Which is correct?
Colm

As mapper of these and nearby parts I find that Colm Donoghues question
raises more issues than the one he lists.

My prime source for the townlands was the GSGS3906 overlay in JOSM and at
the time I had access to the 1901 Census index of townlands.

The Boundary commission map. I notice that while they do not show the three
Islands (Colt’s Island, Shennick’s Island and St Patrick’s Island), they do
further south include Ireland’s Eye. In any case when adding the LEAs I
paid no heed to their map as the maps in the report are clearly marked
copyright Ordnance Survey Ireland / Government of Ireland and I believed I
was therefore not allowed to include any data from them.

Holmpatrick ED. In the General Register Office Report No 17 of May
1885,(National Library Ref A11972), the three islands are clearly listed as
part of Holmpatrick Civil Parish, Holmpatrick ED Balrothery Poor Law Union
etc. Maybe there was legislation since that? *Please if anyone knows of
such legislation or of a newer or better definitive source of ED detail
please do shout out loud*.

LEA boundaries as on OSM. When I added these, the only way I knew was by
making a relation comprised of the existing external pieces of the
constituent Eds. Bit by bit, like a daisy chain. As a result I make the
mistake of excluding the external bits. Not only did I miss the islands but
also about 7 acres of a loose part of Jordanstown, ( the yellow spot on the
west of the Fingal map), and ditto the loose 6 acres of Rallekaystown off
the south edge. I will now correct my errors and add them next week unless
somebody volunteers a better source of detail.

Now some real good news, to add external boundaries of several areas as
one, use John Kennedys brilliant new 2020 ‘select dissolved members’ plugin
for Josm in the relation box menu. Thanks John.

Možná nám časem přijde i něco oficiálního.
