Re: [talk-ph] http://roadguide.ph/forums/showthread.php?t=937
There are new additions to Mindanao roads some are large data example: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/38478682/history And there is no good satellite image in this area and I don't find ANY GPX files from the contributor. Is this the same person who imported data from roadguide.ph? murlwe <-Original Message-> >From: maning sambale [emmanuel.samb...@gmail.com] >Sent: 8/17/2009 10:16:48 AM >To: eppgar...@gmail.com >Cc: mur...@mail2engineer.com;talk-ph@openstreetmap.org >Subject: Re: [talk-ph] http://roadguide.ph/forums/showthread.php?t=937 > >Yes, I remember ed's recommendation. Re: [talk-ph] GPS logger/receiver on Linux
Brilliant! In my case it's: $ gpsbabel -t -w -i iblue747 -f /dev/rfcomm0 -o gpx -F out.gpx At least I have made connection with the little bugger now! I downloaded a completely empty gpx file, which I found a bit strange, as I did log a couple of routes. Nevertheless, it's a step forward :) More testing on the trip and when I'm in the Phils. Ronny. Re: [talk-ph] gps traces from a delivery service company
I would say "fit for purpose" :) The 1:50 K is relatively accurate in position. Road curves are a bit generalized. But still OK by my standards of navigation. On 8/19/09, Jim Morgan wrote: > Cool. I find that perfectly normal :) Not only that, I was actually walking with my two children as well, one in the stroller (which had a perfect place for the eee on top, exactly where I wanted it) and one beside it, who constantly wanted to see the route we had walked as well. I've been trying to do it over bluetooth, so that explains why I've been out of luck so far. First quick test leaves still no joy, but this is a work in progress :) I want to avoid having to maintain a windows box, even on a virtual machine, just to download GPS tracks. I know that would be a simple solution, but I'm looking for a good solution, not just *a* solution. Progress doesn't happen by giving up - that's my excuse :) The idea is that if I'm on a long trip, I can download the tracks to the eee when the logger is getting full. > > >> I got josm working fine, but I'm a bit unfomfortable with it yet. >> > > It really needs a bigger screen than the eeepc to use it well. Cool. Just out of interest, how accurate was that 1:50k map trace?
