Re: [talk-ph] Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge: what's the status?

2010-09-19 Thread Eugene Alvin Villar
I passed by Rockwell yesterday. The bridge apparently goes over J.P. Rizal
and does not start at J.P. Rizal as I thought. Unfortunately, I don't know
how it will connect to Pantaleon St. on the other side.

I've added the bridge now to OSM: http://osm.org/go/4zhHHU7R4--
I guess we're the first consumer map online or offline to have this bridge.
Hehehe.

 Hi Alvin,

it's presently under construction. I passed by JP Rizal last Friday to

A bit off-topic, but new bridges caught my attention :-)

Mapped this on-going bridge construction for some time now
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=14.66606lon=121.07075zoom=17layers=M

I, too, don't have any idea how this will connect to Katipunan Avenue.

Only in OSM?

Re: [talk-ph] SLEx-StarToll link

2010-09-19 Thread tutubi
it's probably PNCC or the SLTC consortium (PNCC and its malaysian
partner) in SLEX

This will open any time soon and expect announcement in the news...I
can have an officemate, who brings his car 3x a week from Tanauan to
Makati, collect the tracks for me just in case.

wikimapia is a playground even for fools indeed who place tags and
useless, if not, misleading information. I was actually looking for a

 Hi,

Filipino Wikimapia contributors are known for drawing proposed highways
 and
stuff like that as if they already exist. For example, the SLEX spur road
going to Los Banos and bypassing the traffic-prone downtown area of
 Calamba
does not exist and I think is only in the proposed stage. No bidding or
 whatever yet.
 http://wikimapia.org/#lat=14.1711557lon=121.1452746z=16l=0m=b

In another instance, they already drew part of the TR4 phase of the SLEX
rehabilitation which is still on paper and the government still has to
 buy
 the right-of-way yet.
 http://wikimapia.org/#lat=14.1340995lon=121.1532998z=16l=0m=b

So, do not believe everything you see in Wikimapia. :-)

(Surprisingly, they still don't have the NLEX-Mindanao Avenue link road,
 which we do have.)

 Hi all!

I was browsing wikimapia SLEX and noticed the  link is already on the
 map.
there's also another exit that I can take to bypass traffic prone
 Calamba Crossing
and instead direct exit to Brgy. Pansol (there's an alternate route
 using calamba exit
to avoid crossing/walter mart and SM calamba but you'll exit Halang)
with the road ending near Sun City resort (so that's why i noticed a
 new that built there)

is that connector road already open? I passed by SLEX about 3 weeks
ago and it was still closed (it was blocked by orange traffic
bollards). I took the Rizal Manila east road route in going home 2
weeks ago so didn't noticed if it's open. If it's open I can take that
road tomorrow so I can add to OSM

I just hope there's another road to bypass Los Banos/College too

[talk-ph] conditional one-way streets?

2010-09-19 Thread tutubi
in makati, there are one way streets with window times, mostly two-way
streets at night but one-way during the day

in Laguna, particularly in Sta. Cruz and Siniloan towns, there are
streets that are one way for PUJs but not for private vehicles. How
can I tag them? do i just assume we're private cars thus two-way?
there's also a portion of Guevarra St. in Sta. Cruz one way for most
vehicles but two way for trikes and motorcycles :(

it's been years since I passed by the poblacion of Sta Cruz; lots of
changes there, but one of my favorite Laguna delicacies can still be
found at the public market. Some things never change!
