done with the edits where I simply dragged the road over my traces except
for the new exit links in Sto. Tomas...there's now a figure of eight at the
end of the toll road, it's not a direct link ... will try to route next week
and upload traces again

hmm...even the roads corssing the railroad were there complete with street
names...nice.

btw, I'm going back to Ilocos Sur next year and may be able to complete the
interior road network of Vigan
as well as other Ilocos Sur towns where I visited most town centers.

Hi Maning,

I uploaded my own traces of the road here but they have quite a difference
with the existing road
except at the ends so I didn't touch them for now:

http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/backpacking%20philippines/traces/885119
http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/backpacking%20philippines/traces/885117

I'll probably pass on the "honor" of opening the road to you so you can
decide if you need to average on the traces

btw, i guess there's an OSMer in San Pablo, a great job there, I passed by
several roads to bypass traffic in the main city roads and they're all
there. I can only add Sulyap Cafe where I ate lunch (nice place, bahay na
bato yet kinda expensive)
I was about to go "green water rafting" in Lake Pandin if not for the rain

from Trinoma QC to San Pablo via EDSA, SLEX and the new toll road
(collectively ACTEX) was just 2 hours from 6am to 8am...

anyway, I'll be back there next week so I can check again

Hi Eugene,

heard the news last night about these, and guess what,
I'm in San Pablo right now. Passed by the newly-opened calamba sto tomas
toll road bypassing Turbina, no toll fees for now til jan 1.
Connects directly to Startoll, saw buses passing already and exits near LISP
to the highway ...will pass by again going home tonight and will update OSM
tomorrow

yeah, the Alabang portion's not yet open unlike what they reported

:P

[talk-ph] Skyway Bicutan-Sucat and SLEx TR3 open s (was Skyway’s Bicutan-Sucat section opens b efore year-end)

2010-12-15 Thread Eugene Alvin Villar
According to this Manila Bulletin article
,
the segment of the Skyway from Bicutan to Sucat (not Alabang) is now
open (and I think the ramps from SLEx ground-level will be dismantled)
as well as SLEx Toll Road 3 project or the SLEx-STAR link road.

Time to get your GPS tracks southern guys!!!
