Re: [Talk-us] OSM US chapter election manifestos

2013-10-04 Thread Steve Coast
I was asked to run by a couple of people, and, I'm curious what people think
the issues are. Or, another way of looking at it, is crowd-sourcing a manifesto.

So, here's a form. People like you can write a sentence or two on what they
think I should work on, if elected:

Thanks

Steve

As they're the US chapter elections, members of the US chapter can vote.

To avoid confusion, I should note that there is no formal link between
the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF) and OpenStreetMap US (OSM-US).

The OSMF acts as the legal entity of the OpenStreetMap project, is the
custodian of the servers and services that run openstreetmap.org, and
organizes the annual State of the Map conference.

OSM-US "supports the OpenStreetMap project in the United States through
fostering awareness, ensuring broad availability of data, continuous
quality improvement, and an active community".

I know that those running know this (or should!), but there periodically
is confusion among other people.

Thanks for the reminder, Paul! To be perfectly honest, I was waiting for
someone else to put their manifesto up first so I had an idea of what was
expected. (Two sentences? A dissertation?)

I also just want to wish everyone luck, and express how happy I am that
there are four women running. Way to go! May the best people win.

My best,
