Re[3]: Kaspersky plug-in - working or not?

2002-03-28 Thread Dennis Hays

Hello Alexander,

I have PC-cillin 2002 set to examine my attachments folder. This
has quarantined a virus or two over the last week (stupid Outlook
Express client with a false return address of Screen Saver
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>--WORM_YAHA.A virus).

As long as I have TB! set to dump attachments in the Attachments
folder, PC-cillin seems to work quite well.

Dial up bug?

2002-03-28 Thread John Phillips

Hello fellow Bat! fans.

Bug in Dial up in Bat!

Two isp accounts, "A" & "B".

Change from account A to B in Network Administration.

Account B is now "Active Account"

Make account B default "mailto" account in account properties.

Change to account B in IE settings to make it default dial up account.

Bat! still dials account A and ignores new settings.

Anybody confirm at all?

Yes, but the point I was trying to make is that the numbering should not
be on by default, because TB is the only Client that does that, and sooner
or later you are going to be posting Replies to other Public Lists and
Newsgroups where Users are not using TB. It will only be your Replies that
have numbers in them, and that will invariably draw the ire of some
Members.

It may be a good thing to some... the problem being it is not universal.

AFAIK there is a plug-in for AVG. Have a look at
https://bt.ritlabs.com/view_bug_advanced_page.php?f_id=564

I don't know if it's working correctly now, but I tested it some time
ago, when I saw it at Bugtrack. I can remember that there where some
problems, but maybe they are fixed now.

what's new in 1.60c

2002-03-28 Thread Reza Habib

*Using The Bat! v1.60c on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 2*

Hi. I'm new to the bat beta list and just downloaded 1.60c to replace
1.60. I was wondering if someone could tell me where to find a list
of changes in 1.60c.

Also, I have noticed that the common Trash folder (created when a
message from a common folder is deleted) does not get emptied when
thebat is closed, even if the setting to do so is checked. This
happened in 1.60 and also is happening in 1.60c. Has anyone else
noticed this. Thanks,

Reza

Bug Report

2002-03-28 Thread Gene Gough

In edit or compose message, change the "queue in OUTBOX" key to F5.
No conflicts with any other editor key assignments. Close shortcut
edit by pressing OK. Use new key assignment to move message to
  OUTBOX. Works.

Compose new message. Key assignment above has been lost. What
good is changing the editor key assignment if it only lasts for one
  message?

Background: I am attempting to change as many key assignments as
possible to be like I had them in PMMAIL since I have used it for
years and am very comfortable with them. In PMMAIL if you are in
edit, F5 put the message in the output queue. If you are not in
edit on a message or if any message your are in edit on does NOT
have focus, F5 will then send any message currently in the Queue. I
am attempting to make the same assignments here and it does work for
one time but then BAT forgets the assignment.

I agree completely. As you say, it lengthens the subject line and I've
had complaints about it on other mailing lists and had to disable it.
It should be an option you can choose, not the default, if there is
any reason for it to be in TB at all.

I think we are on to something. Did you by any chance have changed the
printing port for the HP during the prolonged beta phase?

My HP doesn't have USB, my Kyocera has but I can't use it because it
is not compatible with my OS. What wonders me is that the HP didn't
ever do such thing before I installed a second printer a few weeks
ago. And it is consistent in that it only prints too big on a too
small paper sheet for the first time after switching - the second one
is correct.

I hope, Alexander and Stefan, that all this helps you to find the
problem.

Probably. :-( . But as far as I can tell, the problem stopped for me
some time ago. Before that, everything I printed from TB was huge. Only
about one third of the page fitted on a regular A4 sheet of paper, the
rest was cut off. Unfortunately, I don't exactly remember when this
stopped; I don't even remember if it was something from RIT which caused
that change, or if it was a change in my setup. But I'll go digging into
the change list of the 1.54 beta series to see if I can find anything.

DH> Do you change printers (cable switch) or do you only use the HP?

The Deskjet is connected via USB and I have a Kyocera laser printer,
which is connected to the parallel port, for mass printing.
