I remember I did this a while back, it's not a bad little feature really... in some aspects anyway, would make it fairly quick to pull your important parts out of a document. Though I must confess, wordpad/MS based doc programs are the only places I've really seen it being used... As the saying goes, > Live and Learn! Well, some alpha's and even engineering versions of some software/hardware are very limitedly distributed to those who know what the program does and really donot mind blowing something up... Note I am not saying the bat is in that category but I do remember some software I was send to be tested where the serial number was 1. Didnt work at all in some cases(g). Some of that sofware never even made it to release stage and thats one of the reasons one doesnt want prerelease software or hardware to start floating around... If it doesnt work it can kill the final product. The reverse can also be true as I know of one homecomputer manufacturer which bit the dust in the past as their product had been designed by them on a commercial machine to make the chip layout and nobody had ever told their engineers that sticking 2 oscilators next to each other in a microchip is just as bad an idea as with mechanical ones... Obviously they blamed the program not their engineers(g). Their chip was higly unstable, and the computer deservedly flopped Anyway a practical question: If I upgrade since I am back online to v2 beta, is it going to be any problem importing data from v1.6x data and secondly will it timeout??? I mean arent we supposed to have some cutoff to pay for an upgrade and for the fun of running betas and finding bugs To be honest, running these betas is more fun then receiving my emails... Also I had a major disaster on my hands, not due to the bat but it made me realise that some things might be done better. My request follows later... -- Best regards, tracer Current beta is 2.0b1 | "Using TBBETA" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Wouldn't it be more logical for a mail client to support mail protocols before you start adding features for different protocols first? Though your polls say that 88% don't know what IMAP is, chances are they don't know what POP3, or SMTP is either, they just get told what values to put where. And I'm sure if you did a search for IMAP, and nntp (or news) in TBUDL, you're more likely to find IMAP is a higher asked question. -- Jonathan Angliss ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges. pgp0.pgp Description: PGP signature Current beta is 2.0b1 | "Using TBBETA" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Thath's all. It was? Hrm... When was that? Must have been one of those things I skipped over. But you have to bear in mind that they have been working hard on getting IMAP introduced, which is a more important mail client feature than NNTP. But then again, you never know that they haven't already started on it. unexpected cashing of account data
Hello, tbbeta. I make a new mailbox on www.hotbox.ru (TLS, IMAP4) and enter a wrong account data in the box properties while setup The Bat! account. Then I found this error, came to the account properties and correct the wrong data (user and password) to the right one... But when I try to check mail from new account it said that user data is wrong - and show me the _old_ settings in the dialog box (the settings which I've already correct manually before!). I think this is a bug. I also think that it can be so for POP3 accounts (but not check it yet). -- Sincerely, Alexey.
